Choosing the Glasbern was our wedding venue was not a difficult decision. We felt there was no comparison of venues in the Lehigh Valley. When sharing our choice with friends, family, co-workers we were universally met with praises of this venue. The venue itself is beautiful, well kept, timeless, and unique. Unlike many other rustic venues, the Glasbern has a finished and elegant touch. The glasbern offers on-site lodging which is not only convenient for guests, but an experience of its own. Many of the rooms have whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, and sleep number beds. There is also a complimentary breakfast offered for all guests which far exceeded our expectations. This allowed us to have one final meal with our guests for no added cost! Food was a focus in choosing our venue. The glasbern’s farm to table quality and large portions are not compromised even in the larger quantities to serve a wedding. They offered both private tasting and group tasting options. I would recommend tasting during the season of your wedding if possible because the glasbern uses seasonal flavors and local produce. Though on the surface the sheer beauty of the glasbern was enough to convince us, it was the staff which really makes the venue come alive. From the moment you drive onto the property there is a general sense of respect and good service. The wait staff, inn keepers, kitchen staff, and most specifically wedding coordinators are second to none. Unfortunately there was a change in staff about 2 months before our wedding. When the previous wedding planner(Amber),who helped us through the initial 18 months of our wedding planning, was no longer there we were terrified our vision and hard work would be lost. However, Amanda and Tyler (both existing employees at the glasbern) made this transition seamless. I will never forget meeting with them instead (unexpectedly) for our 2 month meeting. They had an answer to every question on my long, tedious list. Their experience, preparedness, thoughtfulness, attention to detail, hard work, and dedication is the reason why our dreams came to fruition. They orchestrated a team to achieve our vision. What we love most about Amanda and Tyler is that they cared so much about achieving our vision. Along with the help of their amazing staff, they arranged rooms full of our intricate decorations, after the wedding packed them away, and at no added cost like many other venues charge. They allowed us to add so many personal touches such as bringing in our own homemade cake and desserts. This is something that many other venues would not even consider. The glasbern is the full package. From start of wedding planning to follow-up after the day of our dreams. They made us feel important, heard, and cared for. Driving home after the wedding we came to the conclusion that if our wedding budget grew by $100k we wouldn’t have changed a thing. We had the day of our dreams and could not have achieved that anywhere besides Fogelsville,...

My wife and I were both ill (through the following morning) after dining in the restaurant Not enough water pressure to fill the beautiful jacuzzi tub or take a suitable shower Satellite television inoperative in our room No housekeeping service - made our own bed after waiting until 5:30pm No offer of accommodation in what I assumed would be a relaxing weekend with my wife Buildings are in need of a good make-over as they are showing their age
On the bright side:
Beautiful, relaxing wooded paradise that is quiet and suitable for long, relaxing walks.
I believe you couldn't find better scenery from your room - wildlife abounds.
Overall - this COULD have been a wonderful relaxing anniversary to remember, but not in the manner in which my wife and I experienced.
I am very disappointed and wish that management would take more care as you offer serenity and peace, please allow your guests to enjoy it.
The morning of our departure (we left after two nights) we were approached by the 'owner' and he was quite confrontational and simply stated "I don't believe any of your complaints!".
I assured him that I did not wish any ill will towards him and I appreciated him taking the time to meet us while we had breakfast.
I advised that I would be delighted to change my review if he would address the disappointing issues we had.
He simply stated "Are you checking out today?" I advised him that we were. He responded "Good! I don't want you to ever come back".
Be assured as a gentleman I will honor his request as I've been a CEO of many corporations throughout my 40-year career and have NEVER been treated in such a disrespectful manner.
Such a disappointment as we expected an anniversary weekend of peace, quiet and most importantly respect.
WE WILL NOT RETURN...EVER.
I hereby affirm that my review is true and correct.
Thank you.
YOU WON'T DIGNIFY MY COMMENTS WITH A RESPONSE?
Great customer service here.
When you approached my wife and I the morning we left you were 'loaded for bear' and ACCUSED us of falsifying our comments to you.
I implored you to discuss our concerns and if you had done so in a respectful manner (IMHO) I would have most certainly amended my comments.
I certainly understand the impact of negative reviews, but I WAS NOT EVEN GIVEN A CHANCE to speak in a reasonable and respectful manner.
I even told you that and you outright told us we were LIARS!
I am shocked and saddened by this total lack of professionalism and basically...
Read moreFrom the planning process to the actual wedding day, everything went perfectly. Carrie S. is the wedding coordinator, and let me tell you, we couldn’t have asked for a better person to assist us through the process. Carrie is extremely friendly, organized, and professional. We planned our wedding for close to two years, and she was with us every step of the way. She ensured that all of our guests were satisfied, all of our details were followed through, and always answered questions promptly and thoroughly. She even gave us her cell phone and called/texted us on her day off. On the day of the wedding, she made us feel at ease, and ensured that everything went according to plan. Carrie will probably own this place one day, because she’s just that good. It’s rare to find someone in the service industry that is this accommodating.
The Glasbern grounds are breathtaking. We chose to have our ceremony here in the beginning of October, on the ledge outside the Packhouse, and it was an amazing experience. Saying our vows on the top of the hill surrounded by our loved ones, the fall foliage, a pond, and a vista of fall forests was something we will never forget. On the day before the wedding, my groomsmen and I traversed the beautiful trails and paths around the property. It was a great moment to spend with my friends, and helped to relax all of us.
Our reception was a blast. The food at Glasbern is top notch. The hors d'oeuvr were all perfectly cooked, and came out hot when they were supposed to be. The scallops were especially phenomenal, and people couldn’t get enough of them. They had two bartenders were who really friendly and quick with drinks. One of my groomsmen got to know them on a first name basis. The dinner itself was delicious; all filets were perfectly cooked and tender, and the chicken had a sauce that everyone raved about. You never get the feeling like anything is mass-produced or that it tastes like “wedding food.” No ice cream scooped mashed potatoes, salty brown gravy, or canned/frozen vegetables. The food is fresh, local, and well crafted.
I wish we could go back and relive our wedding weekend at Glasbern. The cool thing is, we are always able to go back and stay here. We can go have dinner, stay overnight, and stand in the very spot where we started our life together. It wouldn’t be the same or as personal at a country club or run of the mill banquet hall. Glasbern is something unique and special. Getting married here will make your wedding day the perfect and best day that...
