Atmosphere, good food, and great chef. What more could be asked from this happy little small town restaurant. The second I walked in, the interior hits you from the floor to their fancy ceiling. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was yummy. First we started with salad, it was a good salad, the croutons were phenomenal. Then the bread ploped right in front of us. It was a pleasant tasty surprise. Enough blabbering though, on to the chicken. The first bite was into the noodles, and they were filled with flavor. You could tell that the noodles were made special. The chicken was amazing, nothing like I ever tasted before. The dinner came fast and the dinner came good. The service is the final blow that really delivers this place. The staff were very friendly, and the food came quick. Here comes the best part. I really had to use the restroom, and I was directed towards the restroom. The throne room was right across the kitchen because the staff gotta go too. Anyway, I bumped into the chef on this journey and the cook was super nice, friendly, and overall a very good boy. I would rate this place a 9.5 out of 10 and highly recommend to anyone. I hope to give it the extra point five once they add an upstairs. My friends love it and I love it, one friend loved the alfredo so much he didn’t need a napkin to get all the sauce off his face. It was a disturbing way to compliment the chef but I bet he got the idea. So uhhh yeah, go eat here you...
Read moreCilino's is a cozy small town italian restaurant. The interior is great, the pictures on the walls are very fitting and fun, the ceiling is super cool, almost mesmerizing. There's not a ton of seating, but there is enough for decent size party's. The light italian music playing in the background really adds to the atmosphere in a good way.
I ordered the classic italian dish, spaghetti and meatballs. The entrees come with a little salad, and garlic bread. The salad was served almost immediately after we ordered, which was nice. The garlic bread came pretty soon as well. Both tasted good, no complaints there. The spaghetti was great. I think it was the perfect amount of noodles and sauce. The meatballs were fantastic, I think the dish could have used a couple more though. The food was so good I sent my compliments to the chef.
The service was great, the waitress took our drink orders very quickly. She was very friendly, and kept our drinks filled when needed. The food came out decently fast as well. Overall this little joint is great I would highly recommend, and will...
Read moreAlmost everything about Cilino's was adequately charming. Exactly what you can expect of a small town family Italian restaurant. Maybe we visited on a bad night or something, we were only one of two tables on a Saturday night, but our food was consistently unappetizing, and flavorless. The garlic bread had no flavor. The "marinara" sauce tasted like a less salty ketchup and the alfredo was just bland and full of flour. We had to add salt to everything just to choke it down. The entrees were also strange. Made from the same sauces as the "dipping sauces" and just prepared and plated in a way that made us wish we'd eaten anywhere else. Not only that but weird recipes or preparations that neither me or my partner have ever seen anything like. Again, we had to add salt to even make the entrees edible. I set a pretty realistic low bar for this type of place which can certainly have its charm. I'll even settle for Zio Johno's or Salvatore's in Muscatine. I'm really not asking much but this food was surprisingly...
