I placed an order for pizzas and loaded fries during a 2 hour special when they were likely incredibly busy. I had not had what I would determine as good pizza in this area of PA. I mentioned this to the owner because all restaurants here seem to be pizzerias but despite trying everyone’s favorite, none were as good as from restaurants in big cities. I added 2 cannolis at the last minute when checking out at the restaurant. The owner said that their cannolis were amazing. They were freshly piped and not already prepared sitting and getting soft, already a great sign. I should have ordered more! I’ve had cannolis made in Little Italy and homemade by generations of Italian family recipes, this was absolutely one of the best I’ve ever had. I cannot recommend these enough. The pizza was everything I had been missing. The sauce had a little something special to it, the dough was perfectly between thick and thin, and the cheese wasn’t the tasteless junk too many restaurants put on pizzas these days. Now I’m not saying everything on the menu is amazing because I haven’t tried it. You cannot go wrong with the pizza and cannolis though. Their banana peppers were different from anyone else’s I’ve ever tried. They had more spice/heat than most but it only made it better in my opinion. I’m not a huge fan of fries in general, but their loaded fries were abundantly topped and had great flavor. Even better than the food was the owner and staff’s warm attitude. Keep in mind this is a small town so if you want some fancy atmosphere and impeccably dressed waiters, you won’t enjoy it here. If you want to get some of the best take out you’ve ever had though, I definitely recommend the pizza and cannolis. I’ve been dreaming about...
Read moreWe sat for an hour and 40 minutes with 5 children with no food. We chose to support a local, small business that was remaining open but were sorely disappointed. Every single table around us received food, despite us asking several times where our food was. Upon threatening to leave, we were told ours was finally in the oven. When it came, it was not what we ordered at all. We clarified with the server upon ordering, showed her the exact special we wanted and before they put it in the oven, we re-clarified that we wanted pepperoni on our pizza. My husband placed our children in the car and I went back in to speak with the manger (who had yet to approach us). I was told that they never have dine-in at that capacity (pre-covid) and that they were completely slammed and prioritized delivery/take out. I will reiterate that we sat with FIVE children while a table of 6 teenagers that came in 40 minutes after us was served before us as well as several other smaller tables. After I was told about how busy they were and how I was wrong (by the server), I was poorly offered the messed up food and asked how they could make it right. We rarely go out, especially with 5 small children and were trying to make an effort to support a local business. I was once a server and have never ever experienced anything like this. We are now home with several hungry children, needing to make a meal with very hungry, very tired children. I cannot believe how we...
Read moreOriginal review below, updated review as follows! I didn't hear anything back from this review so I took to their Facebook page. They responded swiftly and offered a free pizza to replace the one they sent Tuesday. We picked our pizza (and side order of loaded fries up) and both were delicious and filling. Thank you for working with us, and we will definitely continue to order from Mamma's in the future.
We typically love Mamma's, they have something for everyone and they deliver from Wellsville all the way out to us in Dillsburg. We've ordered from them many times. Tonight we placed an order for a medium chicken alfredo pizza, a medium four cheese pizza, and a large loaded seasoned fry. We waited about an hour to recieve our pizza, no big deal there. However upon opening the chicken alfredo pizza to say it was disappointing would be an understatement. They apparently ran out of grilled chicken so they put a bunch of fried chicken on top and the alfredo sauce is almost nonexistent. They didn't take my phone number when I placed the order, or inform us when they delivered they did not have the ingredients to make the correct pizza. Never having had to check before, we didn't check before they left. Moving forward I suppose we'll leave a number and ask if they have all the ingredients BEFORE...
