I ordered walleye and there were pin bones in it. 3 in the first bite! I then ordered fried shrimp to replace it and they were tiny, I barely tasted anything but breading. We also got jalapeño poppers, but they were just fried cheese with bits of chopped up jalapeño. Everything tasted frozen and from a bag you get from the frozen section of a grocery store. Great place to grab a cold drink or a filling dinner. The food is always on point. Their have much better “bar food” than most places. Not exactly sure why, but the kites like cheese balls and fried pickles seem to taste better at The Lakes. The staff must be well-trained as the servers are super friendly and always happy to help. Nice clean establishment across the street from Lake Madison. Friendly efficient service and decent prices. The cheeseburger I ordered was very tasty. They don't skimp on the size of the burger. Mine was quite large and grilled to perfection. Nice to know a good pub on a golf course is just a few miles...
