Mr. Birria: Tacos y mas — Restaurant in Weslaco

Ordered a birria ramen through the drive-thru drove home 30 min away only to find out that they didn’t put any birria inside the ramen. I called and they told me I could come back but after explaining that I lived far away the lady on the phone said she remembered my car, took my name down and said I could return for a replacement whenever I was back in town. Upon returning today, the same lady answered the window and said she would let “them” know. Another lady who I’m assuming is the owner or manager came with an attitude and asked when this incident occurred. I told her it had been some time but that I called the same day it occurred and that a lady had taken my name down. To which she responded “yeah we usually only give a day or two, I can give you a birria taco only” Something they should have mentioned when I called the first time, waste of a drive for one taco in my opinion. My honest opinion and it’s not to talk bad or try to bash the place but I really didn’t like this place I had tried it before to taste it out of someone else’s plate and the sauce taste like if I’m dipping in a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. My husband decided to go today and I said maybe it was a bad batch so I said ok let me give it another try, but bad idea the Birria consome taste so much like cinnamon and to top it off it was so cold and oily I also ordered the order of tacos de harina of bistec because it looked so good in the picture and first off they didn’t look like the picture and second they were so salty so I wasted literally $40 in something that was thrown away. We were greeted by an employee as soon as we entered the restaurant. She let us know we could be seated wherever we liked as we were dining in. The waitress was friendly and very attentive to us. The food was hot and very well served. The menu is pretty similar to other local taquerias in the area but the flavor of the food did stand out. As we were finishing up our meal we did notice that they did have a little problem with some flies in the dining area. The location is very clean and I did observe the kitchen staff cleaning up the back area as well as we were leaving. I would recommend that they try to keep that issue under control and I would have given them 5 stars. I would definitely return and recommend this...
