⭐ Review for Rudraksh Indian Cuisine Restaurant ⭐ Wesley Chapel FL 📅 Visited during a long weekend
Long weekend, no mood to cook — and the hunt for good food began! That’s how we stumbled upon Rudraksh Indian Cuisine, a fairly new addition to our area. While finding the entrance was a bit tricky (Google Maps acted up), once we made our way inside, we were warmly welcomed.
✨ Ambiance & Seating: The ambiance was simple and pleasant — nothing over the top but neat and decent enough for a relaxed meal. The seating area was clean and comfortable, and a big plus — no parking issues!
🍹 Drinks Menu: They also offer an Indian-style drinks menu, including Old Monk and Indian beers. We opted for buttermilk and lemonade. The buttermilk was thick and had a taste profile similar to raita — refreshing but didn’t stand out. The lemonade followed suit — good but not unique.
🍽️ Appetizers We Tried: • Shrimp Koliwada: As someone from a coastal background, I had high hopes — but this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me. • Tandoori Salmon: This was a star dish! Two well-sized fillets served sizzling hot, beautifully cooked and well-presented. Definitely a highlight. • Fish Amritsari (Tilapia): Deep-fried and seasoned just right — crispy, flavorful, and worth trying if you enjoy spice-balanced dishes.
🌶️ We requested a regular spice level for all dishes, and the balance was just perfect — flavorful without overpowering heat.
🍛 Main Course: We ordered the Shrimp Biryani (9 pieces), and it was outstanding. The aroma was inviting, the rice soft and fluffy, and the shrimp cooked just right. One of those dishes that’s so good, nothing is left behind! They also served a side of plain ghee jeera rice, which complemented the meal nicely.
💰 Pricing & Value: While the food definitely delivered on taste and quality, the pricing leans a bit on the higher side — so be prepared to spend a little more. That said, you do get your money’s worth in flavor and satisfaction.
✅ Final Verdict: Rudraksh Indian Cuisine made our weekend food hunt a fulfilling experience. If you’re an Indian food lover looking for a mix of traditional flavors and well-prepared seafood dishes, this place won’t let you down. Would definitely recommend...
Read moreHighly recommend Rudraksh!! From the minute we walked in the door and greeted by the mgr it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is simple and not pretentious. Very comfortable. The service, shout out to Asia, was top notch. Since theyve only been open a month, they are very open to feedback which is a nice change from other places. The food...where to start. Everything on the menu sounded so good but we started with our favorites to judge it based on what we've had. The butter chicken and chicken tikka masala were outstanding. Lots of Naan options, butter! The chicken hydrabadi was our choice for a new dish we'd never tried. Very good but the medium is still spicy for us but only on that dish. The samosas had a wonderful taste/texture and the sauces too. My friend enjoyed her mango lassi. Portions were big enough for the 2 of us to take away. I will definitely be back and will bring more people so we can try a lot more of the menu!! I'll add pictures next time I go. The pictures of half eaten food don't do it justice!
One thing I would recommend for improvement. Having 2 deep fryers. I have a shellfish allergy and cannot have food cooked in the same fryers as shellfish. Definitely wanted to try some other things i couldn't. Frying everything in the same fryer will limit the vegetarians & vegans too as they wouldn't want their food to come in Contact with an...
Read moreI was really excited to have an Indian restaurant near my house however some things in the food lacked for me. Each time I try a new Indian restaurant I always try chicken Tikka masala and butter chicken first. My wife has the butter chicken and I had the Tikka.
The good: Service is great! Great looking restaurant and friendly welcoming staff. The naan are very delicious and they are big as well for the rice, it is very aromatic and flavorful. The sauce/gravy for the butter and Tikka chicken was flavorful. Samosas we're good but a bit dry with little sauce on side. I wish they had samosa chaat
The bad: The chicken breast for the Tikka was way over cooked, dry and hard to chew. The only thing that saved it was the tasty sauce/gravy. The chicken for the butter chicken is pulled leg meat, which at least for me it's unusual and giving the price they charge I was expecting breast. The Tikka is $19 and only had 7 pieces of chicken in it. The butter chicken also has ligaments/cartilage from drumstick which was displeasing. For the price you pay I was expecting better quality chicken.
I hope to visit them again and I'm only writing this review as constructive criticism and hope they listen and fix them as they are a new restaurant located in a...
