I'm a truck driver and last night I was looking for a place to park and grab a bite to eat. I noticed this New Taste of India, it was 8:30 pm, they close at 9 pm and I was 90 miles away. I called, told them my situation and they agreed to stay open until I arrived. I arrived, grabbed my meal, settled up and thought I would ask them about a meal I saw in a video. I asked him about a meal called Burnt Onion Shrimp Curry. Now, I know the meal he prepared for me was not what I asked for, but is neither here nor there. This pleasant accident turned out to be ONE OF THE GREATEST MEALS I'VE EVER EATEN!!! Spicy, tasty and scrumptious! I swear there was a whole shrimp for almost every spoonful. I highly recommend truck drivers and everyone else to stop...

Food was very tasty, I'm not Indian, but enjoy good tasting food from other cultures. Price is on the high side just under $24 for a chicken entree with rice and naan. Kinda felt like maybe the naan should come with meal, would make it a better closer to price meal. Building needs major updating inside and out. Asked how long they have been open, man behind counter said about a year. Come on people, remodel a little, make it inviting to the people. Men's restroom was disgusting and needs to be updated. Would have loved to have washed my hands properly, but there was no soap to do so! Food was amazing, building was not. Please invest in a slight remodel, this little Gem could really attract a crowd once word gets out. Four stars for the food,...

Absolutely delicious Indian food, was traveling between Davenport and Iowa City and the owner stayed open another 10 minutes so I could pick up my takeout which I happily devoured back home. The inside of the restaurant is a trip - it’s set in a potholed parking lot of a small truck stop, a rundown roadside diner from another era entirely - but the food was hot, authentic and incredibly tasty. Clearly this place is set up to feed and supply (they have a small grocery with Indian snacks and drinks) Indian long haul truckers hungry for a taste of home while they’re driving all over the country, I just happen to be lucky enough to live a drivable distance to enjoy their takeout. A slice of someone’s...

Excellent food, cooked fresh by a friendly staff working hard on this new restaurant in the old Rockitz Diner. Entrees are proportionate to the price, the chicken in both dishes was high quality and the rice is particularly flavorful. Overall this is an excellent addition to the area and a quirky but nice change from chain restaurants all along I-80. Carry out is preferable until they have time and resources to decorate better and invest in dishes and silverware.

This was a quaint little Indian cafe. The building is a vintage diner, warm and inviting. We had (and highly recommend) the vegetable biryani. It was delicious with fresh ingredients and just the right amount of spiciness. Our host was glad to see us, helpful and took care of everything. If your on I80 this is a must stop for lunch, dinner, or snacks. They have tons of yummy treats to go. Stop and enjoy their food and hospitality.
