Forest House Hotel Inc — Restaurant in West Buffalo Township

Fun restaurant with affordable prices. We got our food pretty fast. We got three appetizers-the nachos supreme, fried cheese curds, and onion rings. The nachos were meh - I would love to see house made tortilla chips instead of Tostitos! The cheese curds were delicious, and we loved the marinara that came with it! The onion rings were tasty but lacked flavor. The food was good in some cases but not in others. DO NOT get the steak - it was like eating an old venison hunk of meat! The Mac and cheese platter was served with cold Mac and cheese that tasted like it was made with velveeta. The barbecue sauce that was on it was delicious, though! I got the Pittsburgh salad which was crispy and refreshing, but a tad mediocre. I’d love to see real bacon instead of the store bought bits. The Italian dressing was a big highlight though! A couple of people at our table ordered burgers or sandwiches, and they were all 10/10, so I’d say that this is the area where Forest House shines. I am so glad that they not only continued the tradition of the annual fishing derby but they also added in some really nice prizes and made sure that each and every child that participated won a prize and let me just say there was a ton of kids! It's so amazing that they do this especially with everything that they are going through with renovations from a fire that occurred 2 years ago. Please do not give this place any patronage. I stopped in for a beer on a roadtrip and was not only disappointed but disgusted as well. While at the bar, several people shamelessly used horrible racial slang, saying terribly racist things out loud, for anyone at the bar to hear. The bartender laughed along and did not do or say anything to stop the visitors from saying the insulting, thoughtless ideas that they were shouting across the bar. Unless you enjoy being surrounded by ignorant rednecks, please do not give this place...
