Mountain Ridge Country Club — Restaurant in West Caldwell

It is a beautiful piece of land designed by Donald Ross who is renowned for his layouts. The present day course was redone in 1912. Long wide straight fairways usually followed up by false fronts. The greens are also quite large. The clubhouse is just simply divine never had a guest up who hadn't mentioned the beautiful of it. Donald Ross was the premiere designer at the time, he also designed central park in New York City and other wonderful golf courses in the area whenever you play on one of his courses they are just stunning. The man new how to pick out land and turn them into unforgettable masterpieces. If ever given the chance to play at mountain ridge drop what ever you have going on and jump at the opportunity. You won't regret it. Membership has been growing steady every year, younger players and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They do alot of charity events caddies if desired or you can take a cart. The course is roughly 5 miles if you were to walk straight down the fairways but that rarely happens. I hear it is similar to Ridgewood country club also designed by Donald Ross. You pull up the driveway and you are in a whole other world. People drive right by it daily and have no idea what beauty and tranquility resides up that little driveway off Passaic Ave in...

This has to be one of the best Donald Ross's golf course in the world. Those false fronts is very challenging. Im a caddie and walking this course is wonderful. Caddie master Matt and Starter Jimmy is very professional and help you if you have a problem. I have to say besides Phil Garner at Montclair Country Club, Matt and Jimmy deserves Caddie Master of the year and Starter of the year. If you get a chance please come to Mountain Ridge Country Club, you will not be disappointed. The course is in fabulous shape and the greens are fast with a wonderful view.
