Rode bikes there with my family on Father's Day. When we arrived, it was closed for a private event. They had not updated their hours on their website or Google. Posting closures on the Internet is a basic common courtesy to your customers. In the short time I was there I saw many people drive in and leave when they saw it was closed. They inconvenience a lot of people. I searched up how to update your Google hours. I'll post here so someone can avoid this mistake in the future: Sign into Business Profile on Google and click 'Special Hours'. Choose a holiday from the list or use 'Add new date' to enter your own. Click 'Closed' or choose new opening times, then click 'Apply'.

I totally understand closing on Father's Day. I arrived via bicycle with small children. The plan was to get there right as you opened. I didn't call because I assumed you wouldn't be open yet. After reading your response, I think my request is still valid. I think you should post your actual business hours on Google and on your website. I had three kids with me. Two were crying about not getting to go to the restaurant. I locked up and unlocked five bicycles because I did not see any signage about being opened or closed . There must have been 40 cars that came and went while I was trying to figure out what to do with my family. I'm not the only person you inconvenienced that day. Just put your hours on Google. It's not that hard. You're clearly on Google reviews all the time. You immediately commented on my review. I checked Facebook before I wrote my original review, I didn't see anything obvious about you being closed yesterday. If you posted somewhere I would have had to do some digging to find it. Also, everyone I know uses Google to check business hours. That's probably why so many people were driving up to your restaurant and leaving that day . I don't keep one star reviews on Google if the owner responds to me with anything close to empathy. You failed at that. Not only am I keeping up my one-star review, but I'm definitely showing this back and forth to my friends and family who clearly live in the neighborhood since I biked there. In fact, I already showed one of my groups of friends and one of them told me he's only been there once but they were closed and he's never been back. I commented to let you know about your problem. I gave you a one-star review to let you know that, yes, I...
Read moreThere are not enough great things I can say about Hawthorne's and the wonderful staff and owners. We had our wedding ceremony and reception here June 19th.
The night before, we attended our rehearsal at our initial venue. Come to find out they double booked us, and we quickly had to find another place for our ceremony that was to take place in less than 24hrs. Our reception was scheduled with Hawthorne's, and so my husband called Greg to see if there was any chance we could use their gazebo. Without hesitation Greg asked how many chairs we needed and told us they would be set up that night along with a PA system.
Needless to say we were elated. These guys really came through for us. What could have been an absolute catastrophe was remedied within a 10min. call.
The food was so good. We got the "little piggy" package, and it did not disappoint. Everyone loved the selections available. The service was absolutely A1. Each guest was accommodated by a staff member with a smile. Drinks were delicious and plentiful.
We also had access to bags, the whiffle ball court, volleyball court, etc. So there was something for everyone if they were not into dancing. My old college roommate even got a video of my dad striking out at whiffle ball which was pretty awesome.
At the end of the night the staff was nice enough to clean up the centerpieces and hold them in their barn so we could retrieve the items later.
I should mention the months leading up to the big day were also exemplar. Lou went through every detail with us to ensure we would have the best time possible. I was in constant contact with him and Greg with many minor updates to seating and arrangements. They never once seemed annoyed or irritated by the questions and requests.
My husband and I are so grateful for the outstanding services and quality of food and drink that Hawthorne's provided. I recommend them to anyone looking for event space or even...
Read moreA little over a month ago my friends and I went to the bar to get drinks in celebration of us all finally being 21. I was immediately carded by Lou the owner of Hawthorne's. I figure everything's all good. Since I'm the oldest in the group I already had my horizontal I.D. while my friends still had their old vertical I.D.s. So Lou holds my I.D. and I do not exaggerate when I say that this man straight up bent my I.D. completely in half and looked me dead in the eye saying "That's not real". I assume the owner was just doing this as a scare tactic thinking we weren't of age or some reasoning like that. So we all left in utter shock. We returned later with my passport and old vertical I.D. that was hole punched by the DMV when I received my horizontal I.D. I then proceeded to explain to him that bending my I.D. is NOT a valid way to determine if my I.D. was real or not out of all the other legitimate ways like my photo, expiration date, the format, or even the hologram. Lou immediately realized he messed up and gave us shots on the house. While a nice gesture Lou still left a nice crease on my I.D. which I have no doubt will cause much annoyance in the future when I'm at an other bar. Lou's response was "It's totally a valid way.". To which I counter the fact that my I.D. is real and because of Lou it is bent and creased proving his "method" ineffective. I understand if you just didn't want to serve my friends and I out of suspicion that were underage that's fine. I could care less and would have left. The fact that YOU BENT MY I.D. IN HALF acting like you know everything on your high horse then proven wrong should teach you to never do that in the future. Thank you for making one of my first bar experiences with...
