Hometown Eatery is an adorable small-town spot, with the atmosphere and service to match. However, I will admit that the food left something to be desired.
I had the chopped steak, eggs, hash browns, and toast. The chopped steak was cold on the first bite, which I can only assume is because it sat before it could be served. The eggs were standard fare, but the hash browns had lots of flavor!
Syd had the French toast and enjoyed their meal.
My partner and I told the owner (who was our server) that it was our first time in and they were very welcoming. I asked if it was always this busy, and was told that it wasn't typically as crazy as it was when we visited. I can imagine that the food and wait time (which was ~45mins) are better when they aren't slammed.

I got eggs over medium (cooked perfect) and we both agreed the hash browns were some of the best we've had anywhere. Plenty of hot coffee. Great service and reasonable prices.
