Strange Roots Experimental Ales — Restaurant in West Deer Township

What an interesting brewery. I generally tend to defer to IPAs but love trying new beers. If you love trying new beers then this is the brewery for you. Their list is always changing, according the the bar tender, but when I was there they had styles of beers I've never seen before. For example, the had one called the Behemoth. It was a 20% ABV beer brewed on wine must with coffee beans...interesting right? They also had a stout entitled S'more stout. Positives: We liked the selection of beer and had fun playing the games, especially Connect Four. Negatives: The dark and drafty atmosphere was uninviting, the food was mediocre and pricey, and the customer service was horrible. We were with a group of friends and wanted to watch the Pens or Playoff football. The tv was not on and when we asked to turn on the game, we were told, "We only televise Steeler games here," and the tv remained turned off. Love this place, but... I've driven out here twice now in the last 2 months to get my growler filled and both times I was told they won't fill them. It's a brewery that won't fill growlers. Unacceptable. Once they get their act together, I'll change this review.

edit: reply to owner On both attempts we inquired about getting a growler fill of any beer. I'm not even picky since they're all great, but we were told there were no growler fills. I hope you're able to get your supply problem...
