Cap'n Cats Clam Bar & Tavern — Restaurant in West Deptford Township

Used to come here all the time as a kid. Finally decided to go back after many years. The food was very good. But sadly, had to knock off 2 stars because of the horrible service. Our server Caylin would disappear for long stretches. All the other servers were always in and out of the kitchen. Many of whom would bring our drink refills even though they weren't our servers. After we ate, I ordered a meal for take out to take to my Mom. After a long wait, which included Caylin having a very long social conversation with some customers she knew, she brought my Mom's meal and the check, told us she'd take it whenever we were ready, then disappeared. After a long wait, I finally had to approach another waitress to take our payment since my Mom's meal was sitting there getting cold. Sadly, this is the first time I haven't left a tip after dining somewhere. Couldn't be justified when we barely ever saw the waitress. Others tables constantly had waitresses coming and going at their table, as we sat wondering if anyone was ever coming back for us. Again, only got 3 stars because the food itself was very good. Usually this location is pretty hit or miss but lately, it has definitely been a miss! A few friends of mine, my husband and I dined there last weekend and was disappointed to say the least. Out of almost $300 spent, the only thing that came out hot was the corn and the soup. That is purely ridiculous. Once we notified the waitress that the crab legs and shrimp were cold, she offered to reheat, which just further dried them out. I don’t understand how food is supposedly just prepared and is already cold. The worse part is they weren’t even busy. Food should never come out cold and have to be reheated especially in cases when the reheating it will cause the flavor to be compromised. Furthermore, the crab legs had no seasoning to it whatsoever, again, I don’t understand how you can’t sprinkle a bit of old bay and garlic on them. My friend dined there last night and stated the same issue, food cold, dried out crab legs and flavorless. I'm so confused after a long hard day at work all I wanted was Seafood but when I got to the counter there was some young girl who was totally clueless I asked her for a dungeon crab she told me I could not get it dungeon crab by itself and had to be a platter after having me wait 4 minuets while she tampered with the computer cluelessly which is very incorrect because every time I go there I got a dungeon crab without the platter she proceeded to tell me about how she don't know or wasnt sure then she said ok yea I know how to give you the dungeon alone then she switched it up again Everytime I asked for a price she could not give it.. for any item..i told her nevermind I don't want anything she said sorry I'm sorry but she has no knowledge of how to be at the register she must of been a family member plugged in and as long as she is there I will never return I loved the place B4 this.... something needs to be done if she is running away loyal customers and I was too exausted to call for the...
