Arrived at 11am on a Wednesday. Only a couple of tables occupied. Clean, rustic, chickeny decor. Mixture of high and low top tables, booths, bar, and patio seating. A few TVs scattered around. Started with Voodoo shrimp. Had a nice kick. Then classic breaded chicken sandwich with side of onion rings. It took quite awhile for service and my server was not overly attentive or pleasant. There was a young man serving that was killing it though! Wish I would have had him. The sandwich and onion rings had way too much breading for my taste. So much that it overwhelmed everything and I didn't get the flavor of chicken or onions. Portion size was good- plenty for 2 meals if I would have liked it. I enjoyed a pop with my meal and the bill was $29 before tip. Ouch. They do have some other things I would go to try, and on Wednesdays they do a BOGO on pizzas. By the time I left the place was packed. Glad I had arrived early as it was a longish wait anyway. 2nd try on. Wednesday night. Arrived at 615- 20 minute wait for a table. No worries. Had a beer while we waited. It was BOGO pizza so that's what we went with! Plus some delicious cheese curds. Tried the Old Highway 5 pizza and the Bypass. Both good! Similar toppings. Either the pepperoni or another meat had some fire to it which I liked and my dining companion did not. Very friendly and efficient staff. Whole pizza left to take home. Total was only $33!!! For cheese curds, 2 small pizzas, and a beer. Enough left for dinner tonight as well. Short drive from Des Moines- maybe 15 minutes. Plenty of parking and handicap accessible interior. Neat decor.

Delicious!!! I had the iowa heat sliders. I had the choice of Nashville hot or Iowa. Iowa was hotter, so I chose Iowa! The 1st slider was not hot, to me, and I am very picky with my chicken, but I had the first slider and LOVED it! I didn’t bite into gristle and the breading was perfect! I had to eat a 2nd slider, even though I was full, just to see if it was a fluke! It wasn’t, just as delicious as the first, Juicy chicken, and the 2nd slider had more heat, but full of flavor! I got the extra charge side, house made Mac and cheese. It was delish. I also had ordered a side of their Cole slaw! I’ve not had better Cole slaw in a restaurant EVER! I’ve always said that I wish restaurants would put more focus on their Cole slaw because I love it with certain foods, BBQ pork, fried chicken, pulled pork, etc, and the slaw is bland and tasteless. ( you know that Cole slaw is not the focus, but it pairs so well) This WAS NOT!! I also ordered a Bloody Mary. They use Mullet’s mix, which I love! Their well vodka is Swell from Indianola, they say, I love local distillery alcohol and will always take that over call when it is local! My husband had the Nashville hot boneless fried chicken. It comes on top of biscuits and he chose fries, which were the Krinkle fries. It was just as amazing! I am very picky and find that I’m not real happy when I eat out, I LOVE salad and can never go wrong with a big salad. It’s nice to find something that I really like! I’m so glad I took a risk and didn’t order a salad! They have a full bar and TVs.

4.2* (out of 5) Food: 4* Atmosphere: 4* Value: 5* Service: 4* Would I go back / Recommend?: 4* (Probably) Total check/person: $24 06/12/2024 We have had discounts from kid's athletics fundraising cards to try this place for several years and finally got over to try it this summer. While the exterior on the East side didn't look like much, the front (North) side looked much more inviting and lively - with tables and a modern look. Unfortunately, we arrived from the South and didn't see the front side until leaving (see pictures of each side below). I did like the corrugated metal and rustic wood decor - giving it a bit of a old farm building feel inside. We started with a Salty Chick and an Orilla Sunset (see picture) drink - and really enjoyed both of them. For our meal we ordered a Nashville Hot Dinner (see picture) and a Chicken Strip Meal (see picture). The chicken was good and we really liked the fries - hearty, crispy on the outside & soft and hot on the inside. Best of all was the Carolina Mustard and Bang Bang sauces on the side - we loved both of them! While this is a bit out of the way for us since we live up in Urbandale and don't get this far south very often, we did enjoy our stop for dinner and would recommend it if you are in the area. Horrible service and didn’t even get my food. Sat down and ordered with my co worker, 3 tables come in after us and ordered their food. They bring out our food and my order wasn’t even what I ordered. After waiting 30 minutes and my co worker getting his food everyone else was getting their food. I told the guy to cancel my order to which he just said ‘ok sorry’. Co worker pays and comes out to tell me that they hadn’t even started my order.... horrible. I can’t even express how disappointing that is to go to place I’ve never been to not even get served food and have the people not even care to make sure my food that was ordered a hour ago is being made.

Just wanted to add to this since I seen a video promoting this place today. Again, DO NOT GO HERE!!! They have the worse owners in the world. I had this horrible experience awhile ago and guess who didn’t try once to make it right??? These guys. Horrible service and they just don’t care that someone sat there for 30 minutes without the order even being put in. I will keep updating this review so everyone sees it until they hold themselves accountable and fix their mistakes

Been long enough to re update this review since whoever owns this place seriously doesn’t care about customer service. I put this review in so long ago and no one reached out or anything. Updated it, still no one reaching out. They just don’t care if you have a issue with them. So as I said before, I will continue to update this so it stays relevant. I know the owner doesn’t care cuz I’m just one person. So i don’t care if this review is always at the top.

Look at that. Still haven’t hear anything from these people to make any effort to right their mistakes. They seriously...
