I recently attended a dinner event at Ark House Dinner, and honestly, it exceeded every expectation. From the moment I arrived, the warm, inviting ambiance struck me. the high‑pitch ceilings and natural light create an open, airy dining space, perfect for gathering with friends or hosting special occasions. The venue has a comfortable mix of booths and tables, and I noticed a modest event area—well suited for hosting small to mid‑sized private dinners or group gatherings. Whether you’re getting together for a birthday, an anniversary, or just a laid‑back dinner with coworkers, I found the layout flexible and the staff accommodating. Staff were consistently friendly and personable. My server was attentive without being intrusive, making the experience feel genuine.
Now, onto the food... wow! I tried their gyros, and they were outstanding, packed with flavor, tender meat, fresh toppings, and a perfect tangy sauce, just phenomenal. I also sampled their chicken salad BLT sandwich, and it’s absolutely worth ordering: generous chunks of white meat, crisp bacon, fresh greens, and great seasoning. Whether you’re looking for hearty comfort food, a bright and inviting space for your next event, or just a delicious meal out, Ark House Diner should be at the top of your list. I can’t wait to return and try even more...
Read moreWe really wanted to give this place a chance and like it! I’ve been there 4x and eaten there 2x. First breakfast was fine, nothing to write home about but hot and tasty(waited a little long). Second time, we went in just a few minutes past breakfast and was disappointed that they already switched to lunch. The “all day breakfast” on the menu is small and unsatisfying as we wanted a nice big breakfast platter. So we got our bill and left. The owner kindly comped our $2.50 bill for a coffee. We left and went to New Holland Family Restaurant which was delicious and filling. Third time, a Saturday morning once again, we walked in and waited to be seated. They weren’t busy. Maybe 7 tables? An older server saw us standing there and didn’t even offer to seat us. After no one came to the counter after a good 5 minutes, we left. Fourth time there was with my in laws. The older server was so scatter brained. She forgot things on our orders and we had to ask for silverware 2x (she gave it to another table). I don’t expect much from diner coffee but it tasted very off, kinda chemical-y and my sausages were ugly, shriveled and a little too grey to want to eat. We left and weren’t full. Unfortunately we won’t be back here but hope this review helps with maintaining consistency in the food and service...
Read moreMe and my family were excited to go here for Sunday breakfast. We decided to skip Gus's, Oregon Dairy and the Pancake Farm to try this small place in Leola. Very (extremely) disappointing. Service was fine - friendly staff. This was the only STAR. My son got sick from the food and had to go to the bathroom. We didn't say anything but here were the issues... *Eggs had a hair in my son's eggs. He saw it right away and only ate a few bites of food. They were sort of unbelievable. Inexperienced cook? Low quality controls? Not sure but it needs to be addressed. Cooking eggs is the most basic thing to do in the kitchen. Runny eggs- the worst l ever seen. Eggs were not well mixed and had other stuff in the plain egg omelette. French toast was inconsistent cooked. One piece was barely cooked and the other overcooked. Coffee was not good. Burnt (pot) tasting coffee. This tells me the coffee machine is not well maintained or cleaned often. Just to help out, omelette was spelled six different ways on the menu. Get the little things right. Also the menu had other spelling issues. Bathroom was gross-the little things that matter. Again, we wanted to really like this place. But we won't be back. Sorry....
