We heard about this place and thought we would try it. We had reservations for 7:30 pm on a Saturday night, and we all arrived on time. We were seated promptly and the waitress passed out the menus. After a few minutes, she came back and took our drink order. Our drinks showed up 20 minutes later, and our waitress asked if we wanted to place our dinner order. We placed our appetizer order of 2 bowls of fried pickles. We were getting ready to place our dinner order and when selected meals were being ordered the waitress told us that they were out of steak, crab, broccoli and brussel sprouts, so some dinner selections had to be changed right away, so the dinner order was placed. Time goes by and the other tables in the place were done with dinner and have left and we are waiting for our appetizer to come. We flag down our waitress and ask about getting another round of drinks and asked her to make sure our appetizers are brought to our table prior to our entrees. She said, “That’s not going to happen”. It would all come out at the same time. She was told, that’s not acceptable. We all looked like what was that all about, you usually have drinks and appetizers before dinner. Someone else brought out our second drink order after another 20 minutes. While waiting for dinner we did notice that the other tables filled up with patrons just having drinks, and yet our dinner has not come out yet. 8:45 pm we inquire as to where our dinners are and we were told that they will be out shortly, so we asked that maybe we could have some bread as we were all hungry, the bread should have been brought to the table much earlier. 9:00 pm our appetizers along with our dinners come out, and one of the people asked the waitress why did this food order take an hour and half to come out, and that the appetizer should not have come out with the dinner order, the waitress replied “you ordered all your food at once” so it all came out together, yet we asked that the appetizer come out early. Then the waitress tells us that there was a party of 14 people upstairs, like they were special or something and our party of 8 was nothing. Sorry to say the dinners that arrived at our table were nothing special, the ribs were dried out, the 3 pieces of ravioli were small, we never got a soup order that they charged us for and the salads were to have the dressings on the side. They weren’t on the side. All in all this place was terrible, we will never be back again. The only bright side of all of this was that in all fairness, they took 20% off the bill after much complaining about...

What makes the Vreeland Store’s customer service lacking? Let me explain....Tonight my boyfriend waited over 50 minutes for take-out. After waiting for the order in the store front area, he asked the manager up front how much longer it would be until his order was ready. She then went to the waitress who placed his order to learn it was sitting with the cashier for sometime. No internal communication between staff.
When the food was taken home, not only was it cold but it wasn’t what was listed on the menu. The menu stated “Vegetable Stir Fry” - menu read “sautéed vegetables over rice” but the chef added egg to the dish. As a vegetarian - when something is stated to be a vegetable dish - I read the listed ingredients and decide if it’s something I can have or not. When I called thr Vreeland Store to speak with the manager, she stated they person answered the call advised she’d pass the message to the manager and was apologetic. The manger called back minutes later to state “hi- I heard you just called and only have a minute to speak as we are very busy”. I continued with my reason for calling - as the dish I selected has a product not listed on the menu and I can’t eat it. She added “All stir fry dishes have egg unless you specify when ordering. “ I continued, “Shouldn’t that be included on the menu??!” She then stated “ if I wanted something else now she would “try to compensate” me.” Really? $14 for a dish that can’t be consumed and waited over 50 minutes for? That is what you offer a customer?
Ironically when her bartender didn’t ring my boyfriend up a previous time we placed and order for pick-up, she called me for payment. I didn’t dodge the call, I made payment and she “thanked me for calling her back with payment.” She also apologized for the confusion between the bartender and the cashier. (A synopsis- I called in the order and he picked up the food- he waited at the bar for the food and had a drink- the bartender said the food was paid so he only paid for his drink - but the food wasn’t paid for, and the cashier realized the mistake after he left the restaurant) This is another instance portraying the lack of internal communication at the...
Read moreHORRIBLE DISHONEST HOST & UNSAFE PLACE TO STAY WITH SMALL KIDS! We booked this place in advance with a notice we’ll have 4 little kids coming with us, as well as that it was for our special occasion, and when we arrived there we were shocked there were zero sleeping arrangements for our 4 kids with only 1 broken travel crib in the suite for all of them! Our kids had to sleep on a old pull-out sofa, & the place wasn’t safe for small kids at all in all other aspects - tall unstable dressers & old falling-apart-furniture, doors barely hanging on their hooks and falling onto kids. The place was very cold, & not heated properly; no any wi-fi internet either (even though advertised and was guaranteed to us to work). We still tried to resolve it in a most friendly way in a direct personal conversation, she promised us a refund, but she didn’t keep her promise, nor made any efforts to fix these issues for us. When we noticed she still didn’t provide at least a partial refund for our overnight stay (which we discussed with her in person and which she promised to resolve promptly), we tried to call her about this, but she suddenly stopped answering our calls & still never returned our calls, even though we were still quite friendly and polite with her & gave her more than enough time to resolve the issue in a fair and friendly manner. The host had shown herself as very snide & sneaky. Dishonest. Food was also very overpriced & quite mediocre. When we checked out early she didn’t keep our bags in a safe place and put all of our bags outside by the garbage behind the house (that was quite shocking too, thanks goodness our bags were not stolen by someone or ripped by animals when we found them there upon our return from our hike to pick them up). I’d advise anyone to STAY AWAY from this place, especially because of the dishonest, snarky, abrupt, greedy and...
