I have been coming to this establishment for several years and plan to continue. There are a few changes that i believe would help. Most of this has to do with staff. 1. There is a younger heavy woman that cooks. When she is cooking everything is great and consistent. When she is not things are not so good. The secret is to keep a clean flat top. Too often everything is covered in black specs that is burned food debris from a dirty flat top. Please fix this. It is just gross and makes food taste bitter. 2. There is an older waitress that seems half hung over. She needs to learn some manners. Please do not reach clear across the table to fill my coffee cup. I would also much prefer to be greeted by "good morning" rather than "hi honey or babe" 3. I see the cooks are wearing those scary plastic gloves. It seems to me that they wear them to keep their hands clean. This does not help me. Please do some training on the proper use of these gloves, after all they are supposed to be for my protection. 4. The pancakes are great. It is a shame to make great pancakes and then put that greasy yellow stuff on them that they call butter. Please, please go back to the real thing. I would rather pay more for better quality. 5. The place is much cleaner these days which is a great improvement. 6. If i order two eggs, please don't serve me two good ones and one broken one underneath. The same things goes for burned toast. I don't want to eat their mistakes. 7. Credit cards. Since most of the younger crowd does not carry cash, you could help increase business if you accepted credit cards. 8. The new owners have done a good job of making improvements. I am sure they will continue the trend. I wish them...
Read moreWonderful local diner. This place is sparkling clean, even when very busy. They have an open kitchen (think waffle house), and the ladies that work there are all very friendly. It is a small place, but they easily accommodated my large party of 7 people. There was no wait, but we were the only large party that day. Mostly full of family's of 4 or couples. The food was excellent. If I was to make any complaint - our server (who I will not name) was very wild when pouring the coffee and often spilled it while getting it in the cups. Fortunately they have saucers with their coffee cups, I do not recommend pulling the coffee cup close to the edge for east pouring - two of us nearly got burned. That being said we enjoyed our meal, and the server was pleasant and sweet. We had French Toast covered in strawberries, Steak omelet, western omelet, biscuits and gravy, and their chuck wagon breakfast sandwhich (i don't remember the actual name for it). If you don't like your omelets brown then order something else, and they are very light handed with the cheese so add extra on the omelets. The toast was fresh bakery style bread, rye, wheat, white or biscuits, and was all very delicious. Home fry potatoes were crispy, but potatoes only and no onions. Very clean bathrooms. 10 out of 10 would...
Read moreGood food, good service,as always. I had the pancakes with bacon and sausage, and the pancakes were huge and off the chain. My compliments to the cook!! Before I got the main dish,I ordered a bowl of chicken soup. Omg!!! Omg!!! Omg!!! The bowl was B.I.G.!!! And the pieces of chicken and carrots,celery,etc... Were big and tasty as well!!! We had other options to choose from, coming back from Monroeville this morning, and we could've stopped at one of the big name places along the way,but I'm glad we chose the Chuck Wagon. The food everytime I've been there has been off the hook, and the staff are all very nice, and they don't let you get to an empty coffee pot,,kick ass in my book...the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is relaxing, but the booths are a little crampy when you have a group of four,so get the booth with three or under or it won't be to much relaxing then. But all in all,if you go here then you know what I'm talking about,if you've never been here, then what are you...
