Had a small 65th birthday dinner here - the service was excellent. Overall the experience was good, lots of table chochkies..
My main course ordered was Shrimp scampi however they sent out Sautéed Shrimp over Linguini, spicy Fra Diablo sauce which had capers, black olives, mildly flavored brown/red colored sauce, I sent it back (twice) and our server insisted it was Scampi which is usually a white garlic/butter sauce devoid of capers, olives and tangy sauce, however this wasn't scampi. It was a tad awkward after the 2nd attempt to resolve the glitch failed, so I gave up and ate the FraDiablo shrimp- notably for the meals price it should have been right. Seeing they were so insistent on not plating up scampi my review of their FraDiablo is
Shrimp (4) a tad under-cooked.. Sauce was loaded with capers, black olives which were tasty, however the sauce itself could have used some more horsepower- FraDiablo should kick- kinda lacked Zing- overall it was decent, pasta was cooked perfectly.
Also ordered a french onion soup - which had no pumpernickel or rye inside and cubes of cheese instead of charred prov.. Different approach, I'd more or less call an onion chowder not so much a french onion, broth was excellent..
Desert was chocolate mousse- was...
Read moreDinner for 2 for Anniversary. First time at this place. First impression was a nice country house, then once I got inside, I felt the dining room atmosphere was a little dark and dingy. I am not a fan of carpet in a restaurant. Our table sat 2 and was filled with dishes and other items...a gold elephant? Anyway. Service was good, not great, and not bad...good. I started with a sesame spice chicken appetizer, which came out raw. After flagging down our server, I explained that I couldn't see it was raw, until I bit into it. The ONE wrong thing with dinner was corrected and removed from the bill. An apology was given too, so I'm not holding it against the place. Entrees...Wife has the Filet; excellent, cooked perfectly. My entree was the pork chop which was lightly breaded and I cut it with a butter knife! Oh my, it was really...really good! The size of the chop was huge, so the 9 pieces of strung beans and 4 slices of potatoes were enough. Dessert...well it was good too. Wife's sorbet was excellent. My tiramisu was excellent as well. Overall, 4 of 5 stars. The food carried the rating to 4 stars, the atmosphere was confusing to me and dark. I would recommend and...
Read moreOnly rating on the bar service. My husband and I just wanted to have a drink and found Arielles’s bar to have open seating. Heads up - They do not have a bartender or serve food at the bar. We were made aware that the servers make the drinks for their guests and no one tends to the bar. All we do is wait until a server comes by and request a drink. Worked out great!!!! Location is simple. It’s a beautiful old stone farmhouse situated on Allentown Rd and nicely tucked off to the side. Parking isn’t big. It probably accommodate 20-30 max. Was informed that can seat about 60 guests but will only serve 30-35 guests at a time due to the kitchen staff and to make it a better dining experience. Staff were extremely nice! We were served by all the servers there and was able to experience how well they handled themselves. Service is great considering it’s a small restaurant. We did not eat but saw that the menu was simple and had a lot of items I would order. Did not see the prices for the food. Ambiance was great. The lighting and decor were very comfortable. Cleanliness was good. Overall we enjoyed it and we’ll be making reservations for dinner to see...
