My husband and I ate here for the first time last night. When we set down I was immediately impressed by the atmosphere and the seating. The dark wood table and the fully cushion chairs were cozy and had plenty of space at the same time.

As I had never eaten there and my husband had arrived about 20 min or so before I made it , he’d already decided on what he’d get ,but it took me a few. The waitstaff / bartender, Tiffany, was amazing , she was patient and gave us plenty of time while watching closely enough that a slight raise in hand brought her smiling yet confident energy to the table. You can tell she treats that side of things like it’s important to her.

We both decided on an app to get started, he got the wings , bone in, hot level, and they were the perfect consistency of plump, seasoned with dry rub I believe, and just the right amount of sauce that made them a little sticky but not messy. They also had a light crispy outside which ,imo ,makes for a perfect wing. Not at all slimy , not fatty, just delicious. The “hot” had a little burn but didn’t make him sweat lol. He can’t handle really hot things (though he likes to think he can lol) and these were perfect. They have other levels of hotness too.

My appetizer was the pita points with hummus, my husband has never had real home made hummus and he couldn’t keep his hands away from my appetizer! I even took some home and he ate most of that lol. He actually never does that. He was saying today as he ate it…” this is so amazing! This beats store bought completely, (continues munching,) oh, I left you enough for a couple bites, but I ate all the pita” … my guy.. smh lol. But I KNOW he digs it if that happens so I let it slide.. THIS TIME. Next time, boy better get his own hummus!

When Tiffany brought us our apps, I asked her to please tell the chef/ cooks to take their time on dinner, so we could enjoy the apps as we’d ordered both about the same time. That’s exactly what she did too. We had plenty of time (probably 20 min ) to eat on our appetizers and sip on our drinks (fully stocked bar and Tiffany took her mixology seriously and wanted me happy With my drink).

Dinner come out still hot. My husband ordered the burger and this man cut meat for 20 years, we usually don’t eat out like this much because we can make better at home tbh, but he said (at least 4 times total lol) that was the BEST burger he ever had. I tried a taste and next time.. I’m getting a burger!

I got the pecan encrusted trout with Brussel sprouts and mac and cheese. I will say the mac and cheese is probably better left for the kiddos (explains why it was also offered on the kids section lol). The Brussels sprouts were the way I like them, sautéed with some crispy edges , not at all watery, good seasoning and flavor. And the trout was a smaller filet (I was hoping for half a skin on bone in filet lol I enjoy getting kinda medieval on my meat, but it was a thinner clean cut filet (fork and the little steak knife required for cutting through the crispy skin on the back part It was very good, a little sweet, a little crunchy from the pecans, AND it did have some skin on the bottom (yay! lol). I will get it again.

We both ate an entree, each got an appetizer, I got a specialty mixed drink, and our entire meal (before tip) was just over 60$. The Dish Cafe will be our amazing little spot from here on, I hope they know how lucky they are to have such an attentive (yet not hovering) waitstaff/ bar tender in Tiffany. She really made us feel comfortable and seen without crowding, which isn’t easy to do as many know! And you could hear her lightly chatting with other customers here and there with a real laugh coming in now and then lol. Just helped create a real atmosphere that made me...

I have been to The Dish several times over the past few months. I am new to the area and heard that The Dish has a "TACO TUESDAYS!" And got very excited. You see I am a combat veteran from Afghanistan and Iraq, I spent a lot of time stateside around Mexico and Texas and have come to love some good tacos! For the first time ever, The Dish let me down hard. Let me explain. So I took my wife to Taco Tuesday today. I went in for Taco Tuesday and sat down, I asked the waiter for a menu for Taco Tuesday, I was informed they have only ONE kind of Taco. Its a chicken taco and that is the only one they have. So I ordered a couple, Then I was stopped by the waiter, and was told we only serve them one way, "They come 3 to an order". So I ordered them. Lets be honest, at this point my expectations were already losing altitude fast. So you can see, the pictures of the tacos below. Lets talk about the OTHER Problem with Taco Tuesday. The fact that the pictured meal you see below cost me $86.00 Dollars to pay for before I left. Thats right. Six small 3 bite tacos, 3 for me and 3 for my wife and we left with a bill of $86.00 Dollars to cover. So you also know, It was 9 bites. If you order this meal as a dinner you will leave hungry. No 2 ways about that. This leads me to my final statement. TACO TUESDAY at THE DISH needs a massive overhaul and a total revamp including price per taco and even the tacos themselves. Add atleast say 3 or 4 different tacos. Might I suggest a Mango/Steak taco. Let people mix and match their order. One of each kind for example. Put a bit more on the taco as well. 2 ingredient tacos should not be 18 bucks. So far I have had a lot of good experiences at The Dish and this one BAD experience. I dont want to let that one bad experience ruin my view of the place. So I will overlook it. But I feel like its an honest evaluation that you have not thought out or developed any of your menu to support these weekday experiences you are advertising. All I can figure is that you dont seriously want people coming around daily for the specials. Because there is zero effort being placed in the weekday special menu. And its priced astronomical. Nobody could afford to eat 100 dollars a day. Even at the near 100 dollar price tag, I left there and went to burger king a couple hours later because I left hungry. Please consider revamping the Taco Tuesday and making the experience better. That was a super bad...

We dined here for lunch/brunch after visiting the nearby-ish exhibition coal mine museum. This place came highly recommended by Yelpers, so I was excited to visit. It's located in a small strip mall but has a nicer vibe/atmosphere than you might assume given the neighboring dollar store, haha.

The interior is spacious with a nice big bar and a good amount of seating. They weren't super busy but it was a Sunday around 1 PM so presumably the brunch crowd had died down some. The vibe felt a little incomplete/muddled to me -- couldn't tell if it was trying to give off more breakfast/lunch atmosphere or more upscale dinner atmosphere. I'm not really sure how to describe it but it just didn't really gel for me. My rating is mostly for the food -- I don't think about ambiance that much generally -- but just something to be aware of if that's a big deal to you. The women's restroom was clean, so that's good.

Service was neither spectacular nor mediocre; it was adequate and I don't really have much else to say about it.

After perusing the menu, husband and I decided the brunch offerings actually sounded the most appealing. My parents split a grilled cheese and tomato soup and also got some house chips with ranch for dipping. My husband got chicken and waffles with potatoes and I got some kind of breakfast combo that came with scrambled eggs, bacon, and a waffle.

None of the food was bad, but we all felt it was aggressively average. The best thing was the chips with housemade ranch. My eggs were a little over-hard for my preference but I understand cooking scrambled eggs that way. The 2 bacon strips were average. The waffle was fine but no better than the waffle I could make in the morning at the hotel we stayed at. Same with my husband's. The chicken for his chicken and waffles was in the form of strips. This isn't entirely uncommon but generally he prefers whole pieces of fried chicken. The lemonade I drank tasted like watered down Minute Maid. One big positive was we thought the pricing was very reasonable.

I dunno. Again, nothing was bad per se, just hoping for a whole lot more given the reviews and accolades. Perhaps we got the wrong item or came at...

A nice little surprise in a Dollar General strip that we found from word-of-mouth staying at the Glades Springs Resort, and the food itself lived up to every good thing we heard. An appetizer of Firecracker Shrimp put the likes of Outback Steakhouse to shame with its spices and breading with a delicious dipping sauce. Sadly, then, a chaotic environment with workers all playing tag trying to find their way as a manager was loudly exasperated at hosts and bus-people lead to a stressful environment. We waited another hour for a salad to show up and then longer for our main dishes. The Chicken Marinara was amazingly well prepared and the breading was perfect on top of a delicious Alfredo. Chicken Wings were lightly breaded but just tender enough and sauced to perfection, but they had been under a lamp just long enough that they had cooled and the sauce has begun to dry into the wings. The kids couldn't stop talking about how good the Tenders and fries were, crispy, tender and a great portion. I can easily suggest the food, but cannot say it will be a relaxing experience and be careful on a time crunch!
