I am a local been here 35 years was curious about this place and when I showed up I pulled up and asked if they were open the guy grunted yes .. I should’ve just left after receiving that stale welcome…I first sat down I was trying to dodge the flys inside when I ordered the fried oysters they come with shrimp? Nothing is explained .. I also had the lobster roll 25$ nothing special served cold after being given my food no one asked how my 56$ is doing? when I used the restroom there was no soap I asked the barmaid she went into the kitchen told them there is no soap and ignored me waiting for something to wash my hands ?? Flys flying around listen it may be a bar and you think it’s cool there wasn’t anything nice about it. I can enjoy 56 dollars over in cape May at a million other Venues. Waste of time and money.. Comparing this lobster roll to Quincy lobster rolls not only was the lobster roll at west side overpriced it wasn’t as good as the 20 I have eaten all summer. When I said to the girl why is there shrimp in my fried oysters ??? She says oh they put them in there ?? Good know perhaps when someone is dropping 17 on a appetizer you could have them explain it I didn’t want shrimp… TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT RUDE GUY AT THE FRONT you WOULD THInk IF SOMEONE ROLLS UP U. A 70k dollar car they would be friendly especially to a local.. The men’s room needs soap the girl said there waiting on an order for...

This was our third attempt to visit this establishment(previously it was too crowded to accommodate our party of 4). Our experience, once we were able to pass through the doors, was very hostile and negative from the beginning. First, a woman aggressively pulled a chair away from my mom as she attempted to sit near the bar. To follow, a just lovely “gentleman” then proceeded to engage in a confrontation with my husband. My husband as a decent human walked away. We never even got a chance to order before the unwelcoming crowd made us feel uncomfortable. We were never even given a chance to eat or drink here, but the negative vibes are enough to keep us away. Positive is how we live!!!! (not sure why everyone from staff to patrons at this place are so angry and negative…..smile and be kind to everyone…that really...

Me and my brother from another mother (Marc) have been coming down to Wildwood together every summer since 1992. And despite 3 decades of eating and drinking in all the same places, today we tried something different…

We went to WEST Wildwood. 😱

Never heard of it? Neither had we. Until recently.

There’s a reason there’s only a one lane, one-way only bridge into West Wildwood.

Population: 536 when we approached the bridge. Population: 538 when we tried to leave.

The good news is that there’s an incredibly great dive bar called Westside Saloon” with truly amazing food and drinks and awesome, friendly locals at the very end of the island.

Marc and I looked at each other several times this afternoon saying, “I never want to leave.”

Under her breath, I could hear the bartender That’s good. Cuz now youz can’t...

Westside Salon represents all you’d want and expect from your favorite neighborhood bar. They serve fantastic fresh fruit crushes and have a decent selection of drafts in plastic cups, but the bartenders can make an excellent martini if you need something classier. You’ll find a jukebox, plenty of TVs, and a unique tradition (see the dollars pinned to the ceiling) to keep you entertained. If you’re hungry they serve good, basic pub fare at a solid price. We typically opt for one of the chalkboard specials like the scrapple bites pictured or the caprese tower. Lastly, you’ll find the bartenders and regulars packed into this pint-sized pub add to the experience. Definitely a must-visit if you’re local or a fan of dive bars!

A Hidden Island Gem The Westside Saloon is very small, but don't let that scare you away. The cozy atmosphere is buoyed by very reasonable prices and food surprisingly tasty food. Philly sports are on almost all the time, and they have a lot of large widescreen TVs, so there is no bad viewing spot. If you want to dine here with your family, you will need to sit outside. Indoor seating is bar-only (with a few small bar tables), which doesn't allow for children. We usually ditch the kids and eat at the bar ;-) When you go, try the "orange crush" drink. It's the best on the island. The "pina colada crush" is also very good. FYI they don't have draft beer. Not sure why. Probably due to the size.
