Cedar Hill Dairy Joy — Restaurant in Weston

Couple criticisms: this was my first time coming to Dairy Joy, as much as the place looked cute, lines and cues were incredibly confusing. People were clumping rather than a straight line, there were no organization tactics but no biggy, the place was local and is a popular destination for snacks, food, and sweets. You’d think the creamery would have a ton of ice cream flavors because the name of the place is “Dairy Joy”, but unfortunately, there was very minimal flavors which only contained Vanilla, Strawberry, chocolate, orange creamsicle, and marble. Unlike other ice cream and snack shack places, there were no topping options for the ice cream. Again, not a big deal. Just something I noticed. There were more food options rather than desserts. There are good plant based and gluten free options for those with allergens which I think is a really good plus for new comers to enjoy. Staff were medium-friendly. Not all friendly, medium-friendly. They all seemed unhappy whenever they would work in the establishment. They never let you know when to pay a head of time, leaving several customers confused. However, I was pretty disappointed when I first received my order. The soft serve was more silky rather than a sweet, soft and pillowy melty texture. The frappe I also ordered was supposed to be “extra creamy”, but it was not what I was expecting. The new flavor they also added for limited time, which was cookies and cream was good, but the texture kinda ruined the fun. It was more of a liquidy and a soupy cold mess. If I could give this place a zero I would. Myself and some fellow friends who ride motorcycle came here on Saturday after doing a parade for disabled and mentally challenged kids. We rode an hour to get here. They knew we came on motorcycles it was very easy to tell. Apparently because of Covid-19 there is no consumption of food or anything on the premises. If there was no consumption of food on the premises they should had NEVER served us knowing we were on Motorcycles and that we couldn’t just take the food and go. So we were by our Motorcycles eating and they were coming out and confronting us. Threatening to call the police on us..........ALL THE MEANWHILE there where cars full of people eating on the premises, people on the side of the building eating with their kids, people in convertibles, jeeps etc eating. People even opened up the hatches of their Minivans and were eating. NO ONE SAID ANYTHING to them!!! We were totally discriminated against because we were on Motorcycles. The food was overpriced and not so good. I can see why so many people were in the ice cream line. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE EVER COME BACK HERE!! Oh and the owner was screaming in one of our friends faces when he was trying to talk to him and ask him why we were being discriminated against as so many others were eating on the premises!!!!! Went to visit a farm down the road and stopped for ice cream with my children. We ordered food and had to wait for it to be called. The food didn’t take too long. I heard my number and walked to the window. There was no one there but shortly a young girl walked by carrying a water case. Once she set the case of water down, she looked towards me and I attempted to hand her my ticket. She stared at me like I was BLACK. (If you feel awkward reading this; I promise I felt worse) I told her I was number 605 and she just kept staring and saying “ okay?”, I guess I was supposed to know that the food that was on the counter was mine. She TRIED to fix her attitude and gather the rest of my INCOMPLETE order but at this point I was already over this establishment . Per customer service, she should’ve took my ticket and confirm my food on her end and send me on my merry ol way; like I had seen the other customers get served. Established 1961 so I can only imagine the morals and principles this place was built on. This is Weston, MA so I knew better. THIS IS A ZERO STAR review!
