Lexi-Lu's Place — Restaurant in Westport

Service was very good and my husband and I enjoyed our meals. I had the Farmers Bowl, no added meat. My husband had the Steak Bomb and a garden salad. He asked for extra tomatoes because they were scarce on the salad. We weren't surprised to see a 50 cent charge for extra tomatoes. We also expected an extra charge for using a debit card. There was a small sign on the side of the counter stating that there would be a service charge for all credit. I guess a debit card is no longer considered cash. We were surprised to see the Farmers bowl was $11.99 on the bill, not the $9.99 that is on the menu. The steak bomb was $13.99 on the bill, not the $9.99 that is on the menu. When we questioned the waitress about the prices she told us there was a $1 increase on menu items. We did not see that posted on the menu or anywhere in the restaurant. And we were charged more than $1 each plate, as our can easily calculate. Disappointed. Though we don't frequent Lexi Lu's we won't...

Definitely my favorite breakfast place in the greater Fall River area and I've been to many. Wonderful breakfast place. My personal favorite is Grace's Portuguese Benedict which contains chorizo (which locals pronounce "cherise," - Portuguese), so good I've intended to try other things and just had to get it again instead. Today I tried the bifana bowl, 1 of 4 bowls built on home fries covered with various items including eggs the way you like them. Bifana is pork steaks, in this case cut up small. It's tender and tasty here, because they marinate it a long time, unlike other places I've had it. They have a very large selection of breakfast dishes including the traditional ones and some vegetarian options. I'm fussy enough about coffee that I grind my own beans and I think the coffee here is very good. Wait staff is super nice and friendly, and also very professional. Lexi-Lu's a solid local diner. Stopped in for a return visit. Food and service continues to be good. Cup of Coffee was pretty good. Went with the Portuguese bowl again, eggs over medium with the Mozambique hollandaise sauce. Had them add shredded sao jorge cheese to complete the Portuguese experience. Pretty unique dish and taste. Something worth trying for yourself. Friendly staff and good parking. Not a ton of tables, so could get pretty busy on the weekends.
