We came here for a family birthday event. It was first time going. We were seated cozily upstairs. Service was great, super nice, very accommodating. I will say that service was still a little slow due to it being a busy night. Took a very long time to get out food. We ordered the calamari. It was tasty but disappointed that it was on a bed of fries? The ratio of fries to calamari seemed a bit much. Maybe just a Sprinkle of fries; we're paying for the calamari here. Flat bread was good, loved how it seemed brick oven baked. I ordered the "Old School Carabonara" - Pecornio Romano Cheese, black pepper, roasted garlic, crumbled Crispy bacon. Now, as a pasta snob, I was super excited about this. I've had the creamy version of this and I've had the old school version of this where the sauce was literally yolky to perfection ( in Venice, Italy). When I got my order, it looked creamy, totally fine. I tasted it and could hardly taste any of the exciting ingredients that the menu said it had. It tasted like heavy cream with a hint of bacon ๐Ÿ˜’ I was eating the bacon just so I could taste the pasta...I had to sprinkle salt which I never do when I order pasta. As a $20 pasta, this should not have gone out, someone should of tasted the sauce for approval first. Wheres the sweet bitter ess of the pecorino? Wheres the roasted garlic, most of all, wheres the yolk go?? I can get more flavor and authenticity for half the price at Avanti Cafe. I went home a little disappointed, only because this place has so so much potential, great atmosphere, accomoddating people, so so food. I really hope this review can help in the future, I'd love to come back. Or if they're hiring as a food taster, I'd take it in a...

Pizza Pavia, a recent addition to the Prospect Heights neighborhood, is a delightful pizza place that has a convenient location. One of the highlights of this establishment is its lovely patio, which provides a perfect setting for enjoying the warm summer weather while savoring delicious pizzas.

The menu at Pizza Pavia offers a variety of options. We opted for a half pepperoni and half sausage XL pizza. The sausage portion truly stole the show. The pizza was generously topped with flavorful, chunky pieces of sausage that left me feeling thoroughly satisfied. It completely outshines the pepperoni side. As to its thin crust, while some may appreciate its lightness and crispness, I personally prefer a slightly thicker crust with a bit more chewiness. Aside from pizza, we also sampled the wings and a few other appetizers. While they didn't dazzle my taste buds, they were still enjoyable. I also really enjoyed my beer served in a frosty chill glass.

The only aspect that could use some improvement at Pizza Pavia is the service. On our visit, the food was served a bit slower than anticipated. However, I believe this is an issue with a new establishment and can be easily addressed, and it doesn't overshadow the overall experience.

All in all, Pizza Pavia is a welcome addition to this neighborhood dining scene. Its location and inviting atmosphere make it a convenient and pleasant choice for locals. The sausage-topped pizza is...

Me and my wife decided to try this place for the first time last night and ordered delivery. We ordered 2 pizzas, an appetizer, and a pasta entree. Pavia's pizza, a regular sausage cheese pizza, the calamari and carbonara. Overall I was not really impressed by the food in general. The pizza itself was pretty mediocre. Nothing special. I am curious to see if you would offer anything else besides thin crust. I'm a "crust guy" so if you guys maybe did a pan, or a thicker, buttery crust I'd definitely try it out again. The calamari's breading was a bit soggy, and it didn't have that crunch I was expecting with most places that offer good calamari. It also had a bed of fries underneath it, to maybe satisfy the lack of calamari inside the box? The carbonara was very watered down, and lacked flavor. Very bland. The best part of everything really were just the fries if I had to say what I enjoyed the most, though I had no idea they would be included underneath the small portion of calamari. Overall this place was decent, I'd give them another shot in the future if I am ever in town, maybe we'll dine in rather than...
