Hands down some of the most delicious Mexican food around! It’s tucked away at the end of the strip mall where Rosati’s is. This is a small, family-owned restaurant with great service. I was craving Mexican food - good carne asada tacos and rice. Taqueria El Comalito popped up on my search and I’m so glad. The carne asada steak was juicy, tender, and well seasoned generously topped on their homemade (Yes, made in house with my order) corn tortillas. The steak was one level of yum and the freshly made corn tortillas brought the level up to incredible! The rice was fresh and soft, the refried beans were smooth and filling. I can’t stop raving about the freshness of everything. I added chips and guac to the order. Fresh chips made with their fresh corn tortillas brought- Wow! The guacamole was a generous portion too and all the flavors blended so nicely. The freshness of everything has ruined my taste for just average Mexican food. I can’t wait to try more! They have a small seating area outside of a couple of tables and some inside. Don’t just assume this is a standard taqueria because it’s far from standard!

Our New Favorite Spot for Authentic Mexican Food! My husband and I love exploring different taquerias—and with so many great options in and around Chicago, we've tried so so many. But this place has quickly become one of our absolute favorites. The tacomalito is an absolute must-try—packed with flavor, made with a fresh, homemade tortilla, tender skirt steak, and rich, house-made guacamole. So good! I also loved the raja (poblano) gordita—perfectly cooked and full of bold, savory flavor. The tacos were exceptional—my husband even said it's probably the best taco stand he's ever tried. And the salsa? Fresh, vibrant, and absolutely delicious. I know I keep saying “fresh” and “flavorful,” but that’s exactly what this place delivers—homemade food that tastes like it was made just for you. To top it all off, the owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They made us feel right at home and generously offered us all the salsa we wanted. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!

Was craving some Mexican food and figured I'd look up what was in the area, and this place popped up as recently open. Was a short drive over from my house and it is a small cozy place that definitely feels like a mom and pop place. I got a Taco dinner which is 3 tacos with rice and beans, I got Barbacoa, Chorizo and the Carne. The Barbacoa and Chorizo were good but the Carne was the real star and was awesome. I was also very pleased that the beans and rice were both very good as well. I was also happy with the amount of meat that was given in the tacos and I don't feel like I was short changed at all. I live closer to the the Taco Maya down the road but would definitely rather come to this place, and support a mom and pop business which is also cheaper and gives you more food! All in all I was very pleased and I will be back.

As someone who grew up in the heart of Little Village, I know what authentic Mexican food is supposed to taste like—and this spot in the northwest suburbs absolutely delivers. From the moment you walk in (or in our case, ordered for takeout), you can tell this is a family-run restaurant where the love for the food and the community runs deep.

We came here over the weekend for takeout with the whole family, and everything we ordered was a hit. The steak quesadillas (hechas a mano) were rich, cheesy, and perfectly crisp on the edges. The tacomalito were tender and flavorful, and the quesabirria? Absolutely next-level—juicy, savory, and packed with flavor.

We’re a spicy food-loving family, so we had to try all the salsas. Their orange and green salsas both smacked—fresh, bold, and with just the right amount of kick.

The prices are more than reasonable, especially for food this good, and the wait time was minimal. Best of all, you can feel the warmth and care from the people behind the counter. They’re clearly passionate about what they do and truly want every customer to leave full and happy.

Highly recommend this place—authentic Mexican food, made with love, right here in...
