🔽Wacootah Grill🔽 They are open 7am-8pm and have one of our favorite restaurant views from the patio. It's an especially great spot to rest & have a bite to eat for ATVers riding the trails in Biwabik as well as for Mesabi Trail riders since the trail is not far from the restaurant‼️ Th Quarry Golf Course is interesting in and of itself since it is actually reclaimed mineland - but more on that in an upcoming video 😁 #discovertherange #placestoeat #minnesota #travel

TL;DR overpriced and under-seasoned. We visited for father's day, as a party of four. Most places around were already booked up for the holiday, so we decided to try something new. First off, our server was great. She was friendly, attentive, and ensured our appetizers and entrees were out to us pretty much immediately. Second of all, if you're visiting the Wacootah Grille, understand that you're almost going to be paying "on the green" prices for your drinks. I had the ribeye, which is a 10oz cut. Expect that it comes without enough salt, which is a travesty against steaks. Since it's a thinner ribeye, I recommend to order it medium rare or risk it being overcooked, as was my significant other's. A 10oz steak coming with hash browns and a biscuit for $28 is a bit ridiculous, if you ask me - especially when you consider you didn't get soup or a salad included with it at that price. It did also come with asparagus, which was pretty good but needed salt also. The chicken wild rice soup was good, but again was under-seasoned. Neither enough salt nor pepper, otherwise it was okay. I'd describe it as markedly "less chicken-y" than most local chicken wild rice soups in the area. We all really enjoyed the firecracker shrimp with it's accompanying dipping sauce, I would order that again if I were to return. The breading on the walleye was too thick, leading to a crunchy exterior but a mushy interior. A lighter breading or a fluffy batter might work better. The breading on the walleye actually was the same breading used on the onion rings, I'm pretty sure - which held too much oil internally in both instances but definitely worked better on the rings. While the size of the single walleye filet was generous, the walleye basket overall was also overpriced at $24 considering it just came with waffle fries, coleslaw and a very overcooked biscuit. We likely won't return to the Wacootah Grille, which is sad considering how good the other restaurant at Giants Ridge is (The Burnt Onion).

Awesome food and great staff. I had the brisket dinner it was very good. The last time I came here I had the brisket sandwich and they were both excellent! The menu isn't very big but the items that they do have on there are done very well. I would recommend this to anyone who is sick of the same old thing for dinner and wants to switch it up. I can't forget to mention the back patio and the view you have of lake mine! Sick! 4 out of 5 stars!

I'm giving 5 stars because of the way I witnessed a very short staffed team come together with the greatest attitude and serve everyone with such positivity and honesty. There was one server (who usually doesn't serve) 😀, a chef, another cook I believe and one other person who I believe was doing dishes. They were the only ones there and of course serving a crowd who most likely had very high expectations. Because of their honesty and sweet attitude everyone seemed pleased and just happy to be there in the beautiful place. The chef came out and helped serving the food that was in the window. He was so kind and did a great job! The food and his service were both great! Thanks Chef!! And thank you for keeping it light and positive everyone! The food was worth the wait. We know the whole world is short staffed, but this little crew pulled it off great! We look forward to...
