The Service: Service & general staff failures were comically bad on this visit. The manager needs to train staff better, teach the staff to communicate better and have them involve the manager the moment anything is out of place. That would have quickly fixed and/or avoided all the problems we encountered. We arrived and were seated at a table by a window. There was quite a big puddle of water on the floor. Waitress points it out, and does not have it cleaned up. It looked like a full glass of water pooled up between tables, and it was there for a long time. SLIP AND FALL RISK!! No action to fix it or put up a hazard/caution sign. Waited 15 minutes for a beer 4 people in the group. Kitchen runner dropped my dinner and half of another on the floor. Then ran off without saying a word. No word from anyone about what’s going on, just food all over the floor instead of on our table. Hostess walked an elderly couple, one using a cane, right through the food and spilled (slippery) sauces on the floor. The woman was visibly struggling to walk through the hazards without tripping. SLIP AND FALL RISK. Thank goodness she made it. We sat there for at least 5 minutes or more trying to figure out what they’re going to do about all this. So, I went to hunt down the manager - that took a while. She was shocked at my description of events, as well as when she saw the mess on the floor. Since I had no dinner, my wife offered me a bite of her Cod - it was way mushy & visibly raw in the middle. After a while a guy came, and he seemed quite puzzled on exactly how to clean up such a large mess. He half cleaned the floor, then left without a word. . Still a SLIP AND FALL RISK with sauces and messy mop tracks smeared all over the floor. He came back after another while and finished. No hazard cone/sign was put out until after he was completely finished cleaning it. That should have been the first thing to go up. Waitress finally shows up & was clueless to the mishap, and had no idea that anyone was missing any food. They rushed out the wrong dinner for me - Cod, but I ordered Catfish. So, I gave it to my wife to replace her undercooked Cod. This second round of Cod was also undercooked. They finally brought my catfish, with fries (I ordered coleslaw), and it too was undercooked. I gave up and choked it down anyway. My friend never got all the shrimp & other missing parts of his seafood platter that went on the floor. He just shook his head and gave up. On top of all this, we were unfortunate enough to be sitting by the one window that all the flies and wasps trapped in the restaurant were congregating around. I have no idea why there were so many on that one window, but they kept visiting our table. There appeared to be no pest control measures in place at all to deal with this menace. The Food: Catfish and Cod were undercooked, sent back Cod twice & got chicken strips instead, they were OK. Coleslaw was unusual - spicy, but OK French Fries were very soggy, also undercooked. Conclusion: All in all, this may be the worst number of restaurant mishaps I’ve personally experienced in one single visit. The shear number of follies and mishaps were remarkable. I’ve eaten at this place before. The food has always been good, usually slow service, but that’s every restaurant these days, so I can get over that. This visit, on the other hand, was quite a memorable experience. They did comp my wife’s dinner, since it was sent back twice, but that’s about it. Manager seamed to be in over her head, and had a staff that just couldn’t get anything right. Training and communication just seemed to be absent among the staff. Don’t think I’ll...
Read moreSecond time there, June 22nd. First off we waited almost 2 hours to get seated. They had a medical emergency to deal with shortly after we got there. Once we were seated our waitress kept us informed that she had another large group, ten people, we were a party of six. No problem she kept us informed and would come get our drink order and then back to get our dinner orders. The simple drinks took about 15 minutes to get delivered. Dinner on the other hand was well over an hour later. Once the food was brought to our table our food was already cold. Simple orders were incorrect we had to go find our own condiments to make them right. One order was completely missing. Meanwhile we watched smaller parties that sat after us get their food and finish before we got ours. We were not the only ones that noticed this. The party of ten wasn't happy either. And they asked to speak to the manager on duty. Yes the person of the party could have handled his language better with all the kids in the place, but he had fair points about the food. The 22 year old manager on the other hand knew she had an unhappy customer who while waiting for food indulged in a number of adult beverages. The manager instead of trying to de-escalate the situation just kept making things worse. Security was then called. As the security officer passed our table heading to ten parties table made a comment in passing about having to whoop some butt tonight. He confronted the man with the party within 90 seconds stated that he was going to kick the mans 4ss. Another in the party stood up and ask the security guard if he was going to kick all their 4sses. From there the group followed the security guard to the front entry area. Getting up and trying to calm the main customer down, which he did briefly calm down, before things go out of hand anymore, the security guard swung at the customer which set things off.
This whole incident could have been easily avoided with proper training or even common sense. When tickets aren't being worked as they come in, staff standing in corners to be out of the way instead of changing duties during a busy time and helping in the kitchen, management and security not acting professionally you are surely going to have trouble. We stuck around ensured statements were taken by the Sheriff deputy because what the staff was saying happened was so far off from the actual truth it was crazy.
Needless to say we will not be back to the restaurant, we may not even stay at the cabins again...
Read moreThe experience I had with how incompetent the whole staff is along with how sadly bland their food is made me rate this establishment 1 star. It’s basic, bland food. You come here more for the “lake view” vibes rather than to experience great tasting food. My two chicken soft tacos were edible but that’s it. The beer I ordered arrived borderline cold.. The main issue I had here was the whole payment problem the waitress “Haley” created for us. Also, including the lack of any leadership and NO manager to guide the staff in how to solve the problem. We had two separate tickets, one for $42 and one for $55. I paid with cash, got my change, the other ticket was paid via credit card…waitress came out saying printer wouldn’t work trying to make her sign my $55 ticket which I already paid ..so they wouldn’t sign because that’s not the correct protocol in this situation. We viewed her bank statement and it shows 2 separate transactions one for $42 and one for $55. We discussed this issue with 5 different people and NO ONE had any brain cells to solve this issue.. why were both transactions on her bank statement when I paid for cash on one?? The waitress, Haley, was becoming irritated at us like it was our problem but this was on them! We waited 15-20 minutes trying to solve this. They said the manager lives 2 minutes away but he’s too lazy to come. Another young guy tries to help but he said he didn’t feel good and was no help..We ended up walking out because there was no leadership and absolutely no competent leader in there. We will dispute these charges with bank because we were clearly charged TWICE. This...
