Good food (really good), but service that's consistently so bad that I'm not going back for a while. Young servers who are unapologetic when you come to pick up your Togo order and they will not let you pay and leave because their boss has to be there for them to check you out. I sat down and ate my full order of a grilled chicken salad to go (that I ordered 20 minutes before) and continued to wait after I was finished for the boss to return. The girl was not apologetic in the least. I didn't give her a hard time, but one of the people waiting with me (out of the three or four), said as they walked out, "I hope you figure out how to give better customer service" and slammed the door. He also ate his whole Togo order at the restaurant while waiting to pay. The unapologetic girl with a bad attitude just made things worse. Today however, I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit over the phone. After 20-25 minutes I went to pick it up. When I arrived it wasn't ready, but I appreciate that when I went to grab 56 cents out of my car that the lady said it was fine. That was nice. However, my order was nowhere close to being ready. It took 40 minutes (according to my text time stamp) to get my one biscuit. Not that busy, though I don't know how staffed the kitchen was, but this has become a pattern with the cafe. This lady however was nice and apologetic, so I do appreciate that. Finally after waiting 35 minutes and needing to get back to work, I told her that I just had to leave. She told me it was almost ready, so I waited another five minutes. I shouldn't have even called to order it because it look them over an hour (since the time I made the phone call) to make it. It doesn't take long to make a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. Knowing I called in advance didn't rush them a bit to get it ready. Really disappointed with this restaurant. Sorry Country Cafe, I hope you improve and do well! I'll check back in in a few months. Thanks to the lady who apologized to me and didn't make me pay the 56 cents, I do...
Read moreOnce the food finally came out (seriously waited 1.5 hours for pancakes and scrambled eggs--ridiculous) it was divine! Service was friendly! Seems like the problem is everyone calls ahead to order so the kitchen staff spend their time cooking for "to go" orders that then get eaten on site. This leaves patrons who prepare to dine in waiting an obscene amount of time for simple breakfast orders. I recommend giving in house patrons orders seniority to keep them happy and fed while "to go's" should be pushed to the back. Based on what I witnessed for 1.5 hours, patrons coming in to order and eat on site were made to wait exponential times for simple breakfast foods and "to go" orders were being served immediately and still eaten on site because they called ahead. Bad business model. But definitely worth a try if you want some good eats and have plenty of...
Read moreMy wife and I had the joy of discovering Country Cafe on our way to the east coast. This treasure was a major event in our travels. We were served by Miranda, a sensational waitress who later told us she's the owner. She's the beautiful woman in the photo. The customers were a mix of cultures, ages, and professions. It appeared the majority were neighbors, family or acquaintances who greeted each other warmly and talked about their livestock, local news, and what's happening in their lives. The food was excellent and the portions generous just as Miranda and her staff were generous in their care and service to all who walked through their doors. Thank you, Miranda, for the joy of having met you and experiencing the greatness...
