On 2/24/2020, I was part of a group of 4 traveling from Montana to Wisconsin after a week long snowmobiling trip. We drive straight through. One of the members of the my party had eaten at the Shamrock Club before and said the food was excellent. My party decided that we could make it to Shamrock about 30 mins before they stop serving food. We called ahead to confirm the kitchen close time. By the time we reached the Shamrock, 30 mins before kitchen close, we we're hungry and running low on other options at the later hour. When we walked in we were informed that the kitchen had closed early due to not serving anyone for over an hour (can't blame them) and the kitchen was clean and salad bar put away.. However, the waitress and the chef, each went out of their way to make sure we got fed. The waitress happily got the salad bar items back out for us and proceeded to take our order. Her attitude to make sure that we we're let down was outstanding. We were very impressed with the food and the willingness to go out of the way. The waitress and the chef both deserve a raise! The double cheeseburgers we're huge and delicious. The pan fried walleye was excellent. More than enough to eat. And the before dinner warm bread offering...
Read moreLast time I was there the waitress had no idea what was on the menu. She kept having to go ask someone else about it, but bragged about having worked there forever. my husbands steak was overcooked on the outside and blue and slightly frozen on the inside on the first one he ordered. When it was sent back, the cook yelled and threw the steak against the wall, cooked him another one and it came to him the SAME WAY. They offered to have it recooked again but my husband told the waitress he will just take it home and cook it the right way cuz that wont happen here. Its unfortunate because weve heard great things about this place and want to go back, but having 2 bad steaks come out, a waitress working on a Saturday night wasting our time having to ask simple questions about our questions like "are the poppers filled with cream cheese or cheddar?" Has made it very difficult to want to spend another $40 on food we have to...
Read moreFelt a little uncomfortable, but it was probably just because this is a tiny town in the middle of nowhere in the middle of Eastern Montana, which itself is in the middle of nowhere, that don't see many out of towners. The food must be decent as the kids all loved it and actually ate. Normally, they are a picky bunch. Idon't want to say anything negative about this place. Maybe the uncomfortable feeling we had was our own fault because we're used to being in places where we are known and feel really welcomed. So, nothing negative to say about this place, but a nice little out of the way restaurant, casino, and bar. I will say, i was pretty surprised that the cost of two orders of fries, a cheeseburger with fries and an order of mozzarella sticks came up to nearly $50, my wife and I didn't even eat as we wanted to wait until we hit miles city. Kind of glad we didn't, we may have paid closer to hundred dollars...
