Wangs and Thangs — Restaurant in Wichita Falls

Why are you wasting time reading reviews? That's less time spent enjoying this absolute gem of a restaurant! I cannot recommend this place enough, Dwight and his folks are absolutely phenomenal! We moved to Waurika from OKC last year and this is our new favorite restaurant in the area.

Wings: GET THEM. They are so expertly cooked you'll be dumbfounded how the chain wing places even get to call themselves wing joints. Warning on their buffalo sauce, it's spicier than you might be used to.

Catfish: absolute chef's kiss. Just the right thickness and fried to perfection. I tried the buffalo lemon pepper last time and it was so damn good!

BBQ: perfect. Special shout out to the baked beans and the greens, an absolute must get every time we go.

Oh and don't forget the banana pudding!

Seriously you guys, this is just simply damn good food cooked with care and served by people who couldn't be nicer and are genuinely happy to see you again. I probably sound like some paid shill but I can't gush enough about this place. If you are in the mood for wings or BBQ, stop debating and just go here, I promise you won't be disappointed.

So I am walking down Venice Beach looking for some good food, and my wife says to look for shrimps. My daughter and I walk up and down the beach, and most places have some 50 or more choices at all the food stands. We walk by and see this place Wangs and Thangs, and I am thinking it’s probably an Asian thing and they will have seafood. Walk up to the counter, say hi to the really nice cashier and order a pound of shrimp. Now I am thinking these are probably the tiny little breaded shrimp that you just throw in the fryer and resell to customers. Nope! These are all hand breaded, real honey and garlic coated shrimp which were HUGE and fried to perfection so they came out juicy and hot. The owner who is working hard in the back comes out, greets us and tells us just try them out and gets us a sample of their made from scratch lemonade slushies (and they were excellent as well). And man, was he right. Real honey with garlic drenched shrimp were amazing! I come back to get the lemonade and ask for two straws because my two kids are like cats and dogs, so he gets me my lemonade and gets me extra lemonade in two extra cups so they don’t have to fight over it. All I got to say is, I appreciate you and keep up...

I heard about this new restaurant that opened but hadn't tried it yet, I did today though. I was working several houses down from Wangs and Thangs, and I could smell that delicious BBQ from all the way down the street. Needless to say it didn't take me long to get that work finished and over to Wangs and Thangs to buy a plate of food. BTW, the prices gotta be the best in town for what you get (a lot!) The staff were friendly and had a plate of that fantastic brisket, potato salad, beans, etc fixed up in seconds. One plate and I was full and fully satisfied. I will absolutely be coming back, I gotta try those wings next! 😋 Wangs and Thangs, check 'em out y'all!
