Gerardo's Restaurant — Restaurant in Wichita

I seen a food review about this restaurant and had to try it out for myself. I stopped in on Tuesday and order their Birria taco plate that comes with rice, beans and consomé. They also have a delicious salsa bar with a variety of different sauces that pair nicely with my meal. This seems like a family ran business and the atmosphere is calm and inviting. My food was nice and fresh and you could just taste that is was made with love and care! My husband just so happened to see my Instagram story of my plate I posted and he went the next day and had their Birria taco and torta and wasn’t disappointed! They have a variety of different specials each day like $1 tacos on Taco Tuesday and discounted Birria platters on Thursday. My husband and I liked it so much we went together on Thursday while the kids were in school lol

We just picked up food from there today. Chips in the super nachos were stale it was missing the pico, and barely any beans to see them or taste them same with the guacamole, there was barely anything. The potatoes in the Colorado burritos were hard, not cooked all the way, we bought two of them and we couldn’t even eat them because the potatoes were raw. The tacos were more like mini tacos for the price not worth it. And where was the flavor??? Cilantro and onions were old, no flavor at all. Paid $68 for it all. Taco trucks have bigger tacos and tastes better. I would not...

Used to buy carne asada fries here multiple times a week. The last two times bad and not cooked all they way so returned this one. Was told they didn't get their order of frozen fries so had to cook real potatoes... and literally their cook could not figure out how to cook them, and unwilling to try. Gave refund as opposed to really trying... but come on... who doesn't know how to cook fries from a real potato? Sad. Makes me wonder about the rest of their food. I like their sauce, but not enough to return. A Hispanic cook that can't cook fresh food? Sorry, changes...
