Mi Pueblo Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Wiggins

Let’s begin with the salsa, a Mexican restaurant staple… it was so bland, you could have told me it was just tomatoes and I would have believed it.

The queso was $10!!! And while it was a decent size, it came out cool and lumpy. Barely room temperature.

I got the Mi Pablo’s Fajitas, which came with steak, shrimp and chicken. You would think that being less than 30 miles from the gulf coast, I would get many fresh shrimp, but sadly, I got 2 absolutely tiny, seemingly frozen shrimp in my whole order!!! The fajitas also suffer drastically from a lack of seasoning.

I was with two others. One got the happy plate, which was bland as well, and the other got the same thing as me. The person who got the same as me also suffered from a lack of shrimp and lack of portion size (we both only got 3 small tortilla shells for our whole order).

The way the check was presented was also an issue for me. All that I got for a check was the handwritten ticket that my waiter wrote. No prices for any item or anything! Just the total price (which seemed higher than expected!)

As I walked up to pay my bill, I glanced into the kitchen and oh my goodness! It was a total mess. I understand there being a little mess in the middle of a shift, but there was food tossed everywhere, even a lot on the floor, and it just did not look appealing to me.

I brought my family there today. We waited 15 minutes for anyone to take our drink order. I figured it was because they was busy so no big deal. The lady that took our order seemed annoyed to have to wait on us. Then she messed up my drink order and I told her I was allergic to lemon and she said just take it off. We finally order and my mom and her husbands food was cold and she forgot to put in one of my grand kids order. So she wasn’t served until 15 minutes after we was. We waited 35 minutes to get refills and when we asked her she said I can only remember so much. Then I placed an order to go as we was wrapping up and that order was wrong and she got very irritated with me and my mom asked if I had her ticket I said no it’s mine and the waitress said No it’s Megan ! So I’m not sure what she thought she heard. Our drinks were not refilled until we was already done eating. Came here for a birthday. The service was fine until all the guys came to do the birthday hat/singing when one of the servers (the one with the black and white hat on……wish I would have gotten his name) smeared whip cream all over the persons face. Absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for. It was all in his eyes, and nose and everything. It’s one thing to put a little on someone’s face but he went way beyond that. Even the guy that checked us out told us that he agreed that he did too much. Tried to tell him he needed to go over there and apologize for what he did, then all of a sudden they said he couldn’t really speak English. How is he waiting on tables then?! Then gonna come over to him (me thinking he’s going to apologize) but instead asks him does he want a free shot instead. Ridiculous.
