Stepping into Shokra Soups feels like entering a space designed for peace and balance—an atmosphere that truly aligns with its name. From the moment I arrived, Brother Jayquan’s service was immediate and welcoming, setting the tone for a delightful and uplifting dining experience. While the menu extends beyond just soups, they certainly shine as a highlight. As a first-time guest, I was graciously offered a tasting of the day's selections—a thoughtful gesture that reflected both hospitality and confidence in the food. Each spoonful delivered warmth and depth of flavor, confirming that these soups are worth returning for. Before serving my Solar Plexus Smoothie, Brother Jayquan took a moment to ring a sound bowl, infusing the drink with positive energy and vibrations. Whether one subscribes to this practice or not, the intention added a unique and memorable touch. And the smoothie itself? Absolutely amazing. Refreshing, flavorful, and energizing—it’s a must-try. Observing the regular patrons who arrived with enthusiasm only reinforced the restaurant’s ability to cultivate a welcoming community. It was clear that the experience at Shokra Soups is about more than just food; it’s about nourishment in every sense of the word. What I Ate: Just Breathe Wrap – A pleasant surprise! I’m not usually a fan of tuna-based sandwiches, but this wrap delivered a fresh and flavorful profile that stood out entirely on its own. From the Earth Chicken Cheesesteak – A bit messy, but undeniably tasty. Soups – Absolutely delicious and a must-try. Solar Plexus Smoothie – Incredible. Bright, refreshing, and packed with good energy. The ambiance is complemented by chill, relaxing music, which enhances the laid-back vibe of the space. However, while the food and service left me satisfied, a few refinements could elevate the in-house dining experience: 1. Offering hardware dishes and utensils for dine-in customers instead of takeout containers. 2. Updating the tables and chairs to better match the restaurant's inviting atmosphere. 3. A refresh on wall paint, ceiling, and trimming to enhance the overall aesthetic. All in all, Shokra Soups earns a solid four stars, with clear potential to rise even higher. With minor improvements to the dine-in experience, I can easily see this spot reaching a well-deserved 4.5 stars or more. And yes—I’ll definitely be back for more soup (and another Solar Plexus Smoothie!).

This is my second time ordering and they did not disappoint!! My diet is strictly plant-based so ordering out is limited around here. I got the “lentil wrap” both times I ordered which comes with sweet potato fries (sweet & soup sauce for dipping). The wrap is spinach, but not gluten free which I forgot to request. My first visit the owner stated they would have the gluten free wraps in this month so I tried again, but forgot to request so I’ll be paying for it later. lol Also, I ordered the “throat shokra” smoothie and it was placed in a fairly sized sound bowl prior to being given to me. Those are the exact vibrations I needed right before studying. I also ordered the “heaven on earth soup” and it soothed my soul the way it needed to in this cold weather. This time around I ordered the “crown chakra/brow chakra” because it has elderberries in it for my daughter who’s under the weather. As well as, the “solar plexus” which is pretty much piña colada w/ the works (flax seed/sea moss). EVERYTHING..AMAZING! p.s. I’m a foodie so this is not fabrication.

A true hidden gem - we stumbled across Shokra Soups and Thomas welcomed us with incredibly warm hospitality as first-time visitors, walking us through all of the options, allowing us to sample soups. The vegan chicken sandwich (made with locally grown oyster mushrooms) and I am Divine smoothie hit the spot; another regular customer highly recommended the lasagna. I don't think anyone can go wrong with the options here! Plant-based restaurants that don't use engineered vegan products are hard to come by and I sincerely appreciate the depth of flavor they coax out of simple ingredients, like navy beans, kidney beans, lentils, mushrooms. Please come by if you're looking for sandwiches, wraps, soups, and other hot meal specials; you won't regret it. Of note, seating inside is limited; you may want to consider take-out. Depending on the time of day, the restaurant can get cozy, but the friendly kind of clientele this place attracts keeps the environment a great...
