We've eaten there once since it was sold (was previously Peggy Sues). The new owners were cooking and Peggy was there helping with the transition - because that's just the kind of person she is - and the food was simply great. The menu is expanded to include dinners, sandwiches, burgers, salads, shakes and deserts, and breakfast is still served all day. Hours are expanded too, and as of last week (May 25, 2022) they're open 7 days a week and until 7 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. We both had the fish and chips dinner: 4 pieces of the most tender cod with a light, crispy batter - not at all greasy; sensational crispy seasoned fries; fresh vegetable and choice of salad, coleslaw or homemade soup - all for under $11! All dinners also offer choice of baked potato, fries, hashbrowns or homemade (not instant) mashed potatoes. The place is still cute and cozy and the service is friendly and attentive. We were sad to learn that Peggy Sues was sold, but are thrilled and relieved that the new owners seem just as committed to high quality, reasonably priced food and even expanding the hours and menu. Bravo Peggy Sue and Al for all the years of great food and for your last kindness to customers - finding these great new owners. And welcome to...
Read moreWonderful experience!! My wife and I stopped in for breakfast and we were going to go to a different place. However, as we drove past we decided to stop as it was much closer than our original destination. The waitress was very friendly from the second we stepped in until the second we opened the door to leave. Outstanding hospitality! The food was also fantastic and very reasonably priced. I had the deluxe omelette and my wife had the blueberry pancakes. There was a lot of food and the flavor of both was great. Lastly, the atmosphere is very warm and inviting and we felt like we were part of the community the entire time we were there. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will definitely stop by again when we are in the area. Thank you for a wonderful...
Read moreJust remember to bring cash or a check with you! The food was good, our waitress was not. For such a tiny place there were 3 waitresses working...I think ours was doing double duty in the kitchen. We ended up paying at the register because, even though she was told we needed our check... she never brought it. And then the girl at the register tells me I have to use the ATM. It charged $3, and there was a note on it that the location received that money. It surprises me that they would rather have checks. Does anyone carry those anymore? And it wasn't that long ago that we were discouraged from using cash. I don't know anyone who carries around enough money for a large party of people. That and the amount of waiting we did made the...
