Nestled in the heart of Van, Texas, 3 Knocks promises a quintessential Texas dining experience with its rustic charm and hearty menu. While my recent visit left me with some mixed feelings, it’s clear that this place has potential, if only it could iron out some service wrinkles.
Let’s start with the highlight of the evening: the ribeye steak. Cooked to absolute perfection, the ribeye was tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. If you're heading to 3 Knocks, their steak is non-negotiable—an absolute must-try.
Unfortunately, while the steak was winning accolades, the service—particularly at the bar—wasn’t. I, along with a friend, headed to the bar with hopes of enjoying a well-crafted cocktail, only to be met with what can only be described as an unintentional exercise in patience. After standing around for what felt like an eternity, we were finally greeted with the utterly perplexing, “Do you need something?” We kindly responded that yes, we’d like to purchase some drinks. To our surprise, we were promptly told to go back outside and wait for our waitress. The confusion set in, as others in our party had successfully purchased drinks at the bar just minutes before.
Defeated, we headed back to our table, our group asked where ours drinks were, we relayed what happened and two of our group went back to the bar—where they miraculously managed to get us the drinks we were denied. I’m still not sure what the magic formula was, but they cracked the code, and we finally had our cocktails in hand.
As for the table service, our waitress Nikki was a shining star. Attentive, friendly, and on top of everything—at least when it wasn’t out of her control. Despite placing our order early, our meal seemed to have taken a detour, and we ended up being served last, well after those who had ordered much later, and with missing items. But even with the kitchen mix-up, Nikki handled it with grace, checking in and ensuring we were still enjoying our time.
In summary, 3 Knocks has some real potential, especially with its standout dishes like the ribeye and a staff member like Nikki on the floor. However, the rude, inconsistent bar service and kitchen delays left a sour note on an otherwise enjoyable evening. Here's hoping the next visit...
Read moreTried to call 3x on a Friday afternoon no answer, drove there to place a to-go order. We'll, things got fun. First, was told Steak meals are only for dining in. 1/2 chicken is only Saturday and Sunday. W/O eating Swine or Shrimp.. the choices are Hamburger, Brisket Tacos,Meatloaf, and Slop Bucket. WILLS POINT is full of hamburgers and Tacos!!!!
Update: owner stated orders can be done online: That is a Lie: online states there are no items listed. The other things after removing 1/2 chicken, Steaks, Shrimp and Swine is. Like I said: Meatloaf, Tacos, Hamburgers, Slop Bucket, I guess the owner don't understand. A pattymelt and chicken sandwich can be compared to Burgers...
So I guess he means: a side salad, green beans, potatoes, Mac and cheese, tomato soup, pudding, Brule, ohhhhh the Steak Wrap!
Sn: Specials was never mentioned when I ordered nor when i reviewed. NEITHER was I looking for anything on a Special Menu... the actual order was for the Lucky Ribeye 13. Full price... with upgrade to Brisket Mac and cheese instead of potatoes. Price has never been an issue...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣good luck on your business in Wills Point with your doing things your way and your restaurant is NOT for everyone! I will make share I pass that message along... seeing as through all your Rules are not on...

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at 3 Knocks Speakeasy, and let me just say—it was phenomenal from start to finish! This American scratch kitchen takes pride in everything they do, and it shows in every bite.
We ordered the ribeye, smoked brisket mac and cheese, hand-cut potatoes, fresh green beans, and the Knock Knock burger—and every dish was bursting with flavor. The ribeye was cooked to perfection—hands down the best steak we’ve had in a long time. You can truly taste the difference in their fresh, made-to-order meals, and we loved knowing that there isn’t a single fryer in the kitchen. It's all done the right way!
Our server, Crystal, was a total rock star—attentive, friendly, and never missed a beat. The smoked Old Fashioneds were the perfect touch and absolutely delicious. To top it all off, there was a live musician playing, which created such a fun and relaxed vibe.
We’ve been raving about this place to everyone we know. 10 out of 10—highly recommend for date night, dinner with friends, or just treating yourself to an incredible meal. We’re counting down the days until the full speakeasy and whiskey bar opens.
Love, love,...
