RAW PORK!! my boyfriend and i popped in after craving a pulled pork sandwich all day. I was so excited till i took a bite and the texture was off, gelatinous and chunky so I opened up my sandwich and the pork was RED. very raw . so raw that the meat wasn't even shedded, it was chopped up in chuncks. i asked the lady at the counter (whos a whole other story) what she thought and she took it back to the cook who is the owner and he came out of the kitchen very intense and told me it's normal for pork to be pink and that it wasnt raw even pulled up pictures on his phone to prove he was right. Im sorry, there is a difference in pink cooked pork and RED BLOODY RAW PORK.. that being said i didnt finish my sandwich, i wasn't about to poison my self with raw pork for god sake. I won't be back. tips if you decide to go, don't talk to much to the middle aged women who works the counter. she will run her mouth the entire time youre trying to eat. she even sat at our table for awhile. boss man is handsy, keep your girl away...
Read moreI was passing through the area looking for a place to eat and some some positive reviews, so I stopped by to check it out. Walk in the front door and pause to scope it out. Not too busy and the crowd is pretty low energy. Immediately to my right I see big blue sign and decide to read. Basically a paragraph on how not woke they are and they still say merry Christmas and anyone who doesn't like that can leave. I'm not offended if they say Merry Christmas. I suspect no one else who has walked through the doors has been offended either. I came to relax and enjoy some BBQ. I did not come to absorb their juvenile foray into pundit driven culture wars, politics, or religion. I don't desire to eat at a place that smacks me in the face with any of the three when I walk in the door. Grow up. So, anyways, I went a few minutes down the road to Route 73 Cafe. Maybe they still say Merry Christmas too. I really don't care. They are smart enough to not post it on the door. Food is pretty good also and the crowd has a lot...
Read moreThe brisket was tender and cooked well. However, the way it was prepared and served was not impressive. We were given a small portioned sandwich that only had a few pieces of coleslaw. The bun did not hold together. I ended up using a fork to eat the sandwich and adding my own BBQ sauce and some pickles. The BBQ sauce the restraunt provided was way too liquefied. The consistency was more like a marinade than a sauce. We also ordered the brisket burrito. Even though it held together better, it was small. We are not big people, and yet we did not leave with a full stomach. The cashiers were very attentive, but the cook staff was slow to the window. Overall, I'd say this restraunt is in need of improvements that will include larger portions and...
