Let me preface by saying that my boyfriend went into the restaurant while I waited in the car and instantly came out with a smile on his face because the people in there were absolutely phenomenal. And me, as probably the most critical and annoying person when it comes to what is actually good food, was blown away from the HUSH PUPPIES THEMSELVES. The fried okra - phenomenal. The hot dogs???????? There is no business for anyone to go anywhere else for a hot dog. Any other hot dog compared to white swan would be a regrettable choice. I’d drive the 30 mins from Garner to white swan any day for the food! We ended up having to go for seconds and my boyfriend came back laughing and smiling again. We had to get more hush puppies and hotdogs along with drinks and this time Mac and cheese, which was a 1000/10. 5 stars for this restaurant is not enough.. I wish I could give more. I also wish I went inside with my partner. I’ll just say this - as a first gen American with European parents I know first hand the difference between bad food, good food, and food that’s made with love. This is food made with love. You can prepare a dish just right, but without that quality you can never get it to amount to what White Swan has. Also my tire popping on the way back home didn’t even upset me because of how great the food was, so if that doesn’t say something I don’t know...
Read moreThis is some really good Eastern NC BBQ. The sandwich had a very generous serving of pork BBQ with traditional Eastern NC BBQ sauce and coleslaw, the hush puppies were made fresh, while the sandwiches were being prepped, the fries were hot and crispy. They had homemade slices of cake, if you mistakenly thought you'd have a crevice of room left to wedge something else in after all that other food ( though I think my 19 year old nephew ate his whole sandwich, two pieces of fried chicken, french fries, and some hush puppies, too...)(those young guys .. amazing metabolisms...). They have bulk meal specials, fried fish, a great choice of sides (when you get meal specials), and they serve breakfast on weekdays - I'll have to go back to try that. Dad and I enjoyed talking with the people behind the counter - I've been before and will go back. Next time, I'm getting the 7-layer slice of cake and saving it...

You walk in you meet the Utter knight and he will give you a break down of the show and what's to eat. The show is a true tell story about a young knight growing up named Utter. The show is ~5hours long and at the end when Uttet does jousting tournament it is incredibly. The Utter swoops down and is jousting against chickens that are ready to be BBQd. He gets a dozen chickens in the jousting pole and then holds the chickens in a fire cooking then in a rotisserie fashion, dips them in BBQ sauce and then slings them into the crown landing on people's plates. If you get the splash zone tickets for the show you are in for a treat.... by the end you will be covered in their famous Utterlishis BBQ sauce. Overall an amazing experience and the...
