I’ve gone here a lot because I like the overall venue and spending an afternoon here with my dog and young child. But what I don’t like is the customer service. The main staff are two guys who seem to not care about being friendly or hospitable to their customers. Especially with returning customers who they know at this point, you’d think they’d be a little nicer and more welcoming, but they kind of act like everyone is an annoyance and not welcomed. The place is also positioned as friendly for children and dogs, yet they are often rude about / to children and dogs. Kind of like they’re always watching you and waiting to say somerint to you. I’ve even overheard them making little comments about customers amongst themselves. It’s a shame they have this bad attitude and they don’t have a more free and welcoming one, especially with returning loyal customers, because the place does have potential and it’s nice. The other thing, they had a food truck there for a long time called The Deli Llama which was really great food both for adults and children. But they recently got rid of that and all they have now is a simple hot dog stand. Which definitely is no where near as good and it again makes it so that you don’t want to stay as long. Maybe they can get the old food truck back, and work on being friendlier to...
Read moreThis place has so much potential. The view, trees, and sunset are absolutely gorgeous—but it’s missing the mark in other areas. It doesn’t quite capture the Texas hill country experience, largely due to the atmosphere and culture.
Unfortunately, it’s not a non-smoking environment—people started smoking right next to us despite clearly seeing we had a baby with us. We ended up having to move and eventually left because of it.
They don’t offer any food or small bites, which would really enhance the experience. While they do have beautiful string lights, they turn them on too late to enjoy them. The pop music playing felt totally out of place for the setting—live local music on weekend evenings would be a much better fit and could really elevate the vibe.
With the right adjustments, this could become a magical summer night spot for locals—not just tourists—especially if they leaned into the sunset views and kept it going until 11. But it’ll take some thoughtful changes from the owner...
Read moreI don't think our experience could have been better. We did get to see, pet, and feed a lama. Prepped the kids beforehand that it might not happen but that was the icing on the cake. It was really warm but the occasional breeze made it bearable. The food trucks were both good. One of my girls said the chicken quesdillia was the best she ever had. I had the bulgogi tacos and they were beyond delicious. Both food trucks staff were friendly, inviting, and helpful with their menus. I was even able to pre-sample the fried pickles that one is going to be adding to the menu. All of this and I haven't even discussed the bar yet. Wide ranging selections but slim on some of my preferred types (stouts, doubles, quads etc) that said, I found a great beer to wash down the food with. This was the perfect way to spend out last night on family vacation. A chance to slow down and unwind before heading back to the big...
