I had a triple seafood dinner. fried clams scallops and haddock junks, Ive never ever sent fried clams back in 50 years, these were horrible. I told the waitress ans she said sorry. Did we see a manager or anyone come out to explain or apologize? No! A $72. 00 meal (2) you might expect decent food or at least just a tad compensation or a redone order .No.! We tod the hostess on the way out and we received yet another ""sorry"". Not any commitment to customer service. In fact ...our waitress ignored me because of the fact I told her. Until I said its not your fault, only then was she somewhat congenial, pointing to considering only herself and the possible loss of her tip. She got 20%. Why? Only because I know what they go through but, the arrogance beforehand was very unbecoming. The manager was told and apparently never bothered to come out or say a thing about it. How do I know all this? I owned a very successful 86 seat restaurant in FL. I know what customer service should be. We probably have spent over $2500 a year there for years... Never again. We will drive 60 miles to stay away from there. With only marginal food one would think customer service is imperative. I'll just bet you can go to McDonalds , spend only $20. and if something was wrong...they would be tripping over each other to help straighten it out to make you happy....

Unfortunately, COVID destroyed this place. The outdoor seating option is nice, but I’ve been going to the Harbour for years and the quality of food has deteriorated recently. I’m not sure if they had to hire a new chef or had to buy from a new food vendor, but the quality of food is definitely down.
The chicken tenders are no longer the big fat overly genetically modified pieces, instead they are over fried and skinnier. They don’t make their homemade honey mustard sauce (which was fantastic) anymore. Not sure why they had to start making that but if that’s the case there’s no longer a reason to buy chicken tenders even though they’re the most inexpensive item on the menu.
If you order the fish tacos, which in my opinion could rival those on the West Coast, expect an over fried single piece of fish and an obnoxious amount of lettuce with a dab of sauce. It literally looked like they asked one of the customers to make it for them.
Even though I’m right down the road, I’m not giving the Harbour another shot until they’re fully operational and back up the way they used to, and even then they’re on...
Read moreWe had such a fantastic dinner at The Harbour Rest in Winchendon — hands down one of the best local spots we’ve been to in a while! We ordered the Baked Haddock and the Clam Plate, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The haddock was cooked to perfection — tender, flaky, and full of flavor, while the clam plate was crispy, fresh, and just the right amount of indulgent. You can really tell they take pride in the quality of their food.
What made the experience even better was our waitress, Deena. She was incredibly friendly, warm, and professional — the kind of server who makes you feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of without being overbearing. She checked in at all the right times, had great energy, and you could tell she really cared about making sure we had a great experience.
From the cozy, laid-back atmosphere to the spot-on service and delicious seafood, The Harbour Rest is definitely a place we’ll be returning to. Highly recommend if you’re...
