Red City Ale House — Restaurant in Windham

Great place and great menu but I really wouldn't know abt food. I understand that restaurants get busy and we were here on a Saturday night so who knows what the staff situation was like; however, we waited a half an hour to give our appetizer orders and then the app came out and we had no napkins, no utensils and no plates until we had to ask for them which is fine. Then our waitress left and when she came back to get drinks we had to ask if we could order our food (this was 45 minutes after we arrived which again was not a big deal because we understand they were busy). All of our orders were taken and 40 later four of our parties meals were delivered. My husband and I patiently waited for ours to show up. Finally our waitress came back and my friend asked for a drink and some Dipping sauce for her meal. I assumed our waitress would have noticed that we had no food bc i watched her look over the table. she came back with the dipping sauce and left again. She came back 10 minutes later and I asked her if there was something wrong with our food and she appeared to have no idea that we had not been given our meals. So she checked into it and apparently they were never put in or kitchen screwed it up. By this time our party was almost done their meals so we said forget it and left. So sad because I wanted to try their food. not great service. Thankfully we didn't get charged for our appetizer or husbands drinks the is nice of them but I would've expected that. Again it's busy and people call out but our server (who said she was mgr) didn't seem to have any idea about our meals that we even didn't have them (or even what we ordered so it certainly seemed she didnt even put our order in). so i get she was prob spread too thin but a former server, im sorry, I have no...

I am only giving the review I am because I know they are new and have bugs to work out. I will be back and hope the experience has improved.

I arrived and there were only 4 others at the bar when I got there and two tables with people. I sat at the bar waiting for a friend, it took me almost 15 minutes to get the bartenders attention to get a drink, when she dropped my drink off she asked if I wanted a menu, I told her yes and that I was waiting for a friend. My friend arrived less than 5 minutes later and again, it was another 15 minutes to get the bartenders attention. (I had a draft beer and she had wine - very easy even on the busies of nights) we finished our drinks and the next shift bartender was busy making the waitresses drinks and couldnt take care of the bar. it was 25 minutes when a girl came out of the kitchen and he asked her to take a look at the bar and help people because he hadnt had a chance to. Now, my glass and my friends glass were empty not a drop and she started with people at the complete opposite end of the bar who had drinks that were low, not empty like ours. It was another 15 minutes for us to wait. The people next to me even commented that we should have been first. We never got our menus and had asked both times we got drinks. We decided to go else where to eat because it was so difficult just to get a drink.

On a high note, it's beautiful and so well done. The people next to us said the food was very good, and the plates coming out for the other people at the bar looked great. It filled up fast and I know people are excited you are in the neighborhood. I will be back in a few weeks.

My Wife and I went on 10/25 in the early afternoon. I oredered the Red City Rodeo Burger, medium rare. My Wife got a french onion soup, I got a brown ale and my Wife got a rum punch. The drinks were very tasty and would order them again. My Wife said she would order the onion soup again as well. The burger, it's a great idea, freaking huge, it was 3/4 the height of my beer glass. You need to be commited to dive into this beast. It has a really tasty BBQ sauce with just enough tang, once I got more towards the center I sudddenly got something sweet.....the bacon jam!!!!! A really good combo. It was not cooked the way I ordered (med rare) but still very tasty. Alicia our server and Mgr said she would discount the burger by half. I commented that it was a good burger but did not expect it to be comped, I ate it after all and stuff happens, not a reason for us to stay away. When Alicia heard it was our 1st visit she comped it anyway and bought my dessert. We could not have asked to be taken care of any better and we will be back. One last thing, if you like peanut butter pie, give this one a try, one of the better ones I have had in a very long time. Overall we are very happy with this spot, much more than just bar food.
