We walked in and immediately were overwhelmed by the heat and humidity inside, but we overlooked it because we’d heard how wonderful the dining experience was. We were quite mislead. We walked in around 1:30, knowing the restaurant closed at 3:30, and were expecting something a little different than what was actually presented. Much of the food was gone or there wasn’t much left. The food that was left that we were able to eat, was actually quite good. Switching gears, the waitress we had ( she never told us her name, but she was a thin older lady with short blondish hair and glasses) was very rude. We asked for a refill only once because she acted so perturbed when we asked. She huffed and scoffed at our request. She also got our drink orders wrong from the start, but heaven forbid we were to mention it! So we dealt with our inaccurate drinks, enjoyed what food we were able to due to the heat and our rude waitress. Upon paying for our meal, the lady ringing up our food also had a bit of a rude attitude towards me (my husband decided to take our 3 and 6 year old out to the car.), but I kindly told her to have a nice day as I was leaving. For myself, my husband and our two small children, and our drinks, came to a few cents short of $47. Considering the lack of food on the buffet, being 2 hours before closing, and considering that our waitress acted as though we were an inconvenience to her day, the amount we were charged was GROSSLY overpriced! We will NOT be returning. I am not the type to complain, I always take into consideration that everyone has a bad day here and there. However, today our family was treated unfairly. A customer should never be intimidated by a servers attitude and should never feel as though they’re inconveniencing their server by asking for a refill. I gave 2 stars because the food that I was able to get small tastes of, was actually quite good. I’m so disappointed. I’d heard such high remarks and was so excited to give it a try. Nearly $50 wasted on minimal bits of food. My poor children were charged for their food and they weren’t even able to eat half of theirs. The young busboy had more personality than anyone else we encountered the entire time we were there. This is unacceptable and ridiculous to have paid so much for receiving or...
Read moreReally good home cooked southern food. The tomato pudding is seriously the reason I go but the chicken pastry and fried chicken are great as well, the cooked pineapple is delicious as well. If you are gluten free or vegetarian this may not be the place for you but the buffet is great and the staff is really kind. I can only speak for the Sunday buffet because that's what I go for but it is really good. Great variety, always hot, and they keep it coming. It is usually packed on Sundays after church, so get there early if that is your plan, but you cant go wrong. If you order the buffet they don't wait on you except to refill your drinks and take your plates, so I can see where that might be a turn off for some, but they are always nice and I hear the burgers are pretty good, though can't personally attest. They sell local items like peanuts and candy at the register as well if you want to bring home some...
Read moreI sat with family members facing the counter where others were picking up or placing orders. I watched a server blow and wipe her nose. She put the dirty tissue in her smock/apron pocket and continued to set up tables with napkins and condiments. She now goes behind the counter and proceeded to stack To go trays still haven't washed her hands. I went to the lady standing next to her and explained what had happened. The lady I spoke with, she told I guess someone who is the manager. The server denied that she had done what I stated, of course, and 《never》washed her hands. She is a short, thin caucasian woman with short strawberry blonde hair. I said play the video and see for yourself. I'm sure she's done this quite often, because she never stopped working even after having been approached. I will not...
