Barney's at Gentleman Tom's Hideaway — Restaurant in Winfield

This review is ONLY for the bartender Ellie! She is absolutely amazing and gives the best service I have ever had here. She is friendly and helpful and is always smiling - even rude people can't take her smile away. I have been here when she's had some very rude people, the usual reason - people always want a free drink or 5, but she continued to treat them with kindness and that beautiful shining smile and provided the price of a double. She is the only reason I continue to come here. Finally someone in customer service who literally puts the service in customer service! She NEVER goes missing unlike all the other bartenders. The food is good, but depending on who's cooking your food makes all the difference....

My husband ordered a burger. I ordered a turkey sandwich. I was brought ham and cheese. Luckily we ordered an appetizer. It looked like lunch meat from Stracks. I waited for the bartender to come back to ask how everything was so I could order something else. She never did. She never even came by to see if we wanted another beer. In her defense, it was very busy. Maybe they should have another person waiting tables and a bartender. She brought the check. I asked for a box so I could bring the uneaten sandwich home for my dog. Great service, great food. Will be back. Got the lunch seafood platter. The portions are large. The perch is the best I've had. The bluegill is delicious. The cod is decent but nothing out of the ordinary, but that perch is really good. The shrimp was perfect. The cole slaw and potato salad were both delicious and house made. The fries were perfect and also cut in house. The only thing I didn't care for was the strong air freshener but we accidentally sat at the table closest to the plug-in so that's on us lol next time we'll sit...
