Winfield Dairy Freeze — Restaurant in Winfield

It doesn’t matter if you eat in, drive thru, if you’re regulars etc.. they are ALWAYS rude. It takes NOTHING to be kind. I said thank you, please, yes ma’am, no ma’am etc(as I do everyone-manners and military). Not a single “of course” “you’re welcome” “no problem” etc. If you hate your job that bad, find a different job not involving the public. As someone who knows Belva personally, I don’t know how she let it get this bad. Every year(before my grandmother passed) Belva would cater for our family reunions. We would always get chicken salad croissants, SEVERAL dozen of her Easter chocolate eggs, etc. Daily trips here for mozzarella sticks, the chicken tenders, pot roast dinners, pub pickles, soups, and milkshakes. A lot of money spent here especially when all of us were in school. Belva knows exactly who we are. She was very close with my grandmother. It is extremely sad the way she has allowed this place to get. I love the food(it’s usually great-Americans love fried food) but I will not be coming back because of the horrible customer service. It’s honestly just pathetic and NOT OKAY at all. It’s also very horrible that employees make fun of the elderly for having hearing impairments. DO BETTER Belva....

After taking care of some business at the Putnam County courthouse, I decided that I needed something, something for my tummy! I remembered that my dad liked going to the Winfield Dairy Freeze for the footlong WV hot dogs. A really nice American little nostalgic restaurant. However, I really wasn't in the mood for hot dogs and decided for the cheeseburger meal. It comes with French fries or onion rings and a drink. You do have a choice of fries, but, sorry, I didn't write them down in my journal! Since I had been in the cold, I wanted to warm up a bit and sat outside. So, the drive-thru was out. I was asked if I wanted a dessert when ordering, only I was just not sure if I could eat it all and held up on it, even though the butterscotch sundae really did sound good. Anyway, the wait on the fresh burger took no time at all - drive-thru was a poppin'!! I enjoyed the meal and it was just right for me! Portion sizes and cooking 'serving temperature' need reviewed and retrained. It's hard running a restaurant but my burger 'made twice* per my request' was not warm 1st time and something was still off the 2nd time. The burgers look like their not grilled, and are barely heated (both times). I've known this place for years. It has a good reputation, but something is definitely wrong with the burgers. Related to portion size, I paid for a large fry and it didn't appear to be large enough to fit the description. Service great! Atmosphere great! Please review your cooking practices.
