Guadalajara Mexican Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Winlock

Whenever I am in the area of my oldest stomping grounds,I ALWAYS make it a point to go here with my family. The drinks are good.The chips and salsa are good. The atmosphere is comfortable and casual.You can come as you are and just enjoy a great mexican meal.I never have had to wait for a table which is always nice. The staff at this restaurant are always polite and helpful.If you want something extra,they will provide it if possible. I have never had a mess up with our orders,so someone back there is paying attention. If you are going north or south near winlock on I-5 and you are hungry,please do yourself a favor and exit for winlock and go west a few short miles to mexican food nirvana. It's literally like 3 or 4 miles from the highway and easy to see on the right.Drive another mile west when you are done and drive through historic town of winlock. Home to the world's largest egg by the tracks in remembrance of the giant chicken and egg farms that use to flourish here. I always get the plate which has chicken,fish and shrimp,beans,rice ,warm tortillas and jalapenos on the side. Very tasty to say the least. The portion sizes are good also,as I am corn fed and obviously 1-2% neanderthal,and I always go away full. You may perceive this as one of those out of the way places that is just to far off the road,but it's not. It is a straight stretch over a couple gentle hills and then you come to a right turn at the bottom of the hill and it's on the right. I don't personally know the owners and have nothing to gain from such a glowing and honest review....

1ST and last time diner,Entered the restaurant and went to the front counter, you know, the one with the giant sign that says please wait to be seated? Then i looked at a menu, and waited for 20 minutes before i was finally able to get the attention of ANY staff. (It wasnt busy, there were three tables with people who already had food when i had entered) When i WAS able to get help, they acted like i was inconvenient for ordering food to go. I ordered 2 small meals, 2 enchiladas for both, one chicken and 1 beef Finally paid, waited for my food and left. It wasnt til i arrived home that i realized she input my order wrong. She put it down as 1 small meal with 2 enchiladas, one beef and one chicken. INCORRECT i decided to let THAT go but then started eating and immediately stopped. The food was DISGUSTING. I WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE I LIVED CLOSE TO A MEXICAN RESTAURANT AND IT'S TERRIBLE! SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME JUST GO TO...

The food was okay. Honestly the food was not bad tasting, but I've definitely had better. However the cleanliness of the restaurant was unacceptable. The floors were sticky and down right filthy. The staff is very nice and great about being attentive. One of the persons in our group ordered a salad, once the salad was brought to the table they decided to tell us they had no ranch and basically no other dressings. They should have mentioned beforehand they had no dressing before serving. Who wants to eat a dry salad, not I! My friend had ordered a chicken fajita that comes on a hot plate and that portion was smaller than usual. There's obviously a consistency problem with food portions as well. My 3 year old ordered a burger and did not sit well with her ): we will not be eating here again...
