Ayomee’s African Kitchen — Restaurant in Winslow Township

In short: we were not pleased with the food due to the small portions and lack of flavor which was overpowered by pepper, the pricing listed on the site is misleading and unclear, and we wish that there was more meat in the soup.

My husband and I were craving African food so we decided we would try Ayomee’s food. We were under the impression that the soup’s cost would reflect what was shown on her website but we were sadly mistaken.

We asked for chicken and beef in our soup (I had cassava and he had egusi) the food came out to $23 each ($46 total) and he wasn’t made aware that the original price had DOUBLED until AFTER she came outside with the food.

When we began eating we were disappointed by the small portions especially the lack of meat in the soup after paying extra money for this meat. He noticed that the chicken in his soup was clearly taken from a different dish as the gravy on the chicken did not match his egusi soup. My soup was watery, and lacked seasoning but it wasn’t as bad as A&H so I give the food 3 stars.

All in all, I wanted to leave this honest review with no ill-will towards Ayomee, but with all respect and transparency. I hope that a disclaimer can be added to the website for the additional cost of meat. I also hope that a little more adobe and Maggie cubes can be added to the soups. I understand that our country is going through inflation, but it would be nice to experience generosity when supporting...

So, this food was delicious. Her customer service was top tier. She is so sweet, and I highly highly recommend. I got 3 egusi soups with chicken-2spicy with and 1 mild-with 3 and a side order of rice with chicken. So much flavor! I would just say the spicy option is SUPER SUPER spicy. We love spicy but next time I’m gonna ask for med spicy because the spicy option was extra spicy. I also ordered mild - but enjoyed the spicy option’s taste better but just would’ve like it a tiny bit less spicy. Overall Delicious and will be going back for seconds! Also the food is “home made”. I’m totally cool with that, but just for people curious, yes you will be pulling up to a home to pick up ur food. So What though, that sh is bomb and she will continue to get...

Food, customer service, taste, satisfaction Guaranteed I love African food I stopped eating American made food all I eat now is African nothing else it doesn't bother my stomach my skin has cleared up very well health has improved overall I recommend this spot to everyone leave that American junk they been feeding us for far too long check out this African food spot I guarantee you will only want to eat Nothing but African food believe me your physical and mental health will thank you.
