Wonderful job giving the old place a much needed face lift. Facilities did look great ! Now, if you're going to charge higher end pricing for dinner you're going to have to do better then serving dinner meals on imitation bambo plates with plastic utensils!! The food was good but I'm not about to eat a $39 dollar traditional cut prime rib on a paper plate with plastic utensils , are you kidding me !! And what's with serving a $6 glass of wine in a plastic cup? (also want to mention the rice pilaf was missing from my wife's meal and my baked potato was sbout the size of a lemon - not good for the prices folks) When we asked the very pleasant and attentive server why , she said it's the owners rule if you're dinning outside. We frequently dine at RiverWinds outdoors and at other establishments and always are served with silverware, real plates and glass! So, while the food was good, if you want to compete and maintain a returning customer base , you absolutely need to step it up (at least for $150 dinners for two - drinks , wine and meal) and not treat dinner guests like its a backyard BBQ. If you're going to charge higher end pricing you need to treat dinner guests accordingly. I could understand the accommodations if you just walked off the course and wanted sandwich and a beer , but COME ON , if you want to compete with the better establishments and charge like it , you better step it up quickly before the " overpriced " reputation gets to far out there. Overall we must say we enjoyed it. I first came here in1978 and golfed here many times in the 80's on up through 2000's even playing a round with a previous owner. You have done a great job with this place , just step it up a notch to match your pricing and you'll have a fine establishment for...
Read moreIt pains me to make this review but what happened today was unacceptable. My boyfriend and I love the pinlands golf course and have been here a few times. Today we had lunch here and noticed the “Sinatra sunday” section of the menu which advertised $10 and $15 pastas as well as $5 wine on Sunday nights. Seeing such a great deal we decided to come again after our round for this specific deal. I told the waitress we would be doing the Sinatra Sunday specials she said no problem. Frank Sinatra is playing over the speakers - it’s a great vibe. Then we get our bill and we are charged regular prices??? When I asked about it the waitress said “oh we don’t run specials on holidays”. It was Father’s Day but we didn’t even realize (we don’t have kids). This is false advertising and honestly shameful that’s the waitress didn’t notify us when we ordered from this specific special menu. We literally ordered these entrees BECAUSE of the specials. We would have got something else had we known. The waitress told us the manager couldn’t do anything because it’s owner policy. Super lame. Won’t be eating...
Read moreThe atmosphere is great It is evident that the owner spent alot of money to make the place nice. The chef is excellent but that is where it ends. The service is terrible inexperienced manager and waitresses take away from the place. I was brought one napkin and almost empty salt and pepper shakers. The owner needs to rethink the bamboo dishes too flimsy for a hearty steak and they keep sliding on table when you eat. The portions are too small for the price. Four dollars for two pieces of garlic bread that came out at the end of the meal although I ordered bread at the beginning. They said they only had garlic bread hello go to Luccas bakery they are open 7 days a week and the bread is awesome. The drinks were served in plastic cups, this is not the 18th of July carnival! This is a golf course it needs to be in glass glasses and needs to be high end. The music was nice, make people stop playing corn hole game during music, very disrespectful. Close down the corn hole during music and open it as a...
