The cheesy jalapeño bread is da-bomb ! Good cream cheese mixed with jalapeño that has good heat to it đ very interesting bakery that opens very early - at 6am there is already a crowd there - a friendly crowd i must say which is how we discovered the bread - one cute latina gestured to me a few recommendations coz she saw me gawking yet looking lost as to what to select from the well stocked shelves brimming with baked goods lol ! And if you know how to read a little Spanish and speak it too is a plus. :) but food is a universal language so don't worry đ there are helpful foodies there :) the prices are reasonable . They sell tamales too at 2 bux atm. The pastries etc are usually hot out from the oven and a wide selection too! The parking however can be a bit of squeeze and that is probably why there are only takeouts, no dine-in. I wanted to upload pictures but realized the food had somehow disappeared into my gastric sack at an astonishing speed before i could reach for my camera. Next time. We will be back...
Read moreI have heard of this place for years and finally made it in! It is not close to where I live but so worth it! The bread is made there and you can smell the wonderful aroma early in the morning. I went this past Saturday around 9am and it got busy in a couple of minutes!
If you are looking for tasty, fresh, homemade Mexican sweet bread, this is the place to go! I have tried bread in various mini stores and nothing comes as close as Panaderia Cardenas. It sure was worth it!
The bread is stocked and they have a large variety. I got conchas, mantecadas, empanadas, cuernitos, bolillos, teleras, donas and super affordable. It ranges from $1 to $1.50 and it is really flavorful.
They sell tamales, gelatinas and they have a small grocery section. Their big seller is definitely the Mexican bread and I will...
Read moreFresh bread, pastries, and sweet delights. Sweet empanadas are my favorites. Pick a flavor, they are all good. English only speakers, don't be shy, come on in, you are welcome, this bakery is inclusive, friendly, helpful, and all delicious. The selection of authentic, locally packed herb, spices and peppers really got me excited! I love this place! Fresh coffee, and a whole aisle dedicated to beverages too, wow! You can see the bakery sign from Plant Street in the same shopping center as the 7-Eleven on the corner of East Crown Point Road. It is an unassuming little place, but expect to be wowed after you walk in, pay, then enjoy!...
