Sometimes in reviews you wish you could give one less star â for service, especially for extra bad service - but not here! This time I wish I could give a bonus â¨â!
This was new to me. I think they have been open for about 8 months. I live halfway between the edge of Murfreesboro and Woodbury and I totally confess, I slide left more than right and don't get into Woodbury as often - and then, I'm generally on a mission.
So, where are they? Directly across from Chilangos Mexican Restaurant and abutting Woodsviking's new location. Parking is plentiful and when I came in at about 2:30+, they were pretty full. That should tell you something. New places can sometimes take a while to be found, we see that from time to time and others, their first 2 or 3 weeks are the busiest and it tapers off from there. Here at Golden Greek they are in full swing.
The food is typical of the Gyro style model of what most expect of "Greek" food. But, I saw some killer burgers being made just in case Tabbouleh is scary (it's the parsley based salad and it is great).
I always get Tabbouleh when I can, I can get regular salad all over the place. I got a combo plate (chicken and Gyro meat) over traditional yellow rice.
Take a look at the portion size. Very generous. And more is not necessarily better unless it's more of something good - and it was. I took a picture of the menu board, it seems a little bigger than some Gyro style model restaurants.
Anyway, you are probably tired of reading and maybe a little hungry so I'll sign off by saying, they seem like good people (I got a chance to visit a bit with them) and the Gyros...
Read moreFri Aug 9, 2024 (12:30 PM) Usually come here a few times a month, usually pretty good food with great portions.. not today, IDK if it's because I corrected the guy for trying to charge me full price on the combo when they have lunch specials 11-3. He was a new guy I've never seen, and the gyro had like 8 chunks of dry grisly chicken. I can only eat about half (not this time) this time it was not good barely any chicken and I had to tell him thanks twice before he acknowledged me back. New guy is a little rude and doesn't make proper sandwiches, even with the not so great re grilled chicken, I ate the whole thing easily. If I want overpriced junk food I'd go to the Sonic across the street.. Unfortunately it just wasn't right today, and I mainly blame whoever that new guy is. **Follow up to your response, yes I did have to correct him about the special, the chicken was garbage. I won't spend another dollar here or the pizza place which was decent, and I'll make sure to spread the word that you're establishment is hit and miss & if you do make a mistake you get defensive instead of trying to...
Read moreThis is the place to go if youâre tired of the same ole, same ole stuff. As far as Greek food, I donât know how it compares to authentic Greek food since Iâve never had it. The restaurant itself is kinda dirty honestly, inside and out. Nobody actively wiping tables off after customers leave. Myself and the people after me had to wipe crumbs off the table from people before us. The food was good. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma. No clue what it was or what it included, the menu doesnât really go into detail on most items. I just picked something and hoped for the best because if itâs edible at the very least, Iâll live to see another day. A mixture of chicken and rice and veggies with pita bread triangles. Again, the place to go when you want...
