I have drove by this restaurant for 20 +years and my husband and I decided to visit the “restaurant by the red light” after my (MTMS) co-workers convinced us to go. If you’re looking for thrills and frills-this isn’t the place. This restaurant reminded me of “ Sidney’s” in Thomaston. I haven’t had their potato fries since they closed…until I visited Smitty’s. We ordered 3 piece fish dinner, hubby ordered 2 piece fish dinner. I ordered a salad and hubby ordered coleslaw. I tried to take a picture of my salad but, I was only able to capture an empty bowl! Our wait was about 40 minutes and it WAS WORTH THE WAIT! The fish was fried so crispy that I was able to eat every part of the fish lol! I asked for the cook to “please leave the fish tails on” because I think that’s the best part of the fish! Needless to say that I was full and satisfied. I know that we’ll be back every Saturday for dinner! Thank you Smitty’s. Oh btw our to-go-cups was the best...

My husband and I planned a day trip to Strong Point and I said I wanted to get breakfast on the way. I purposely chose a small-town diner instead of a corporate store like IHOP but I left disappointed. I saw they had chicken and waffles as their special so I ordered that and the waitress said it was bone-in chicken (?) so I asked for tenders instead, but she said they didn't have any sauce (no ranch or honey mustard that's used for dinner?). Maybe it's my fault for expecting Belgian waffles but they seem like they could have been frozen just moments before. We waited at least 20 minutes for our food even though it didn't appear to be so busy that people were waiting to be seated or anything. My husband got the two-egg omelet with sausage and said it didn't have much taste. My meal tasted fine, it just didn't taste like it was made...

Mediocre food, lackluster service, poor management and indifferent décor. On our recent visit in Sept 2021 the waitress didn't know details of their daily specials and couldn't / didn't remember what was ordered (even though she appeared to write it down). Out of mac & cheese, onion rings, chicken & dumplings, mashed potatoes, coke, and unburned cornbread - despite all of these being on their menu and/or daily specials. Over charged for substitution on stuff they were out of. Extremely well done burger on not-fresh bun. The waitress didn't help the situation at all, but this is mostly a management problem. Little or no reason to return, even if it is the only restaurant for...

I had heard about this place for a long time. So I was happy to finally get to try it out. I had the whiskey burger, which had an onion ring and whiskey sauce. There was barely enough sauce in it to try. I did not ask for extra. The burger was well done, which I would prefer more of medium well (still not a deal breaker for this place). The fries seemed like they were fresh. Several old school restaurants have these same kind. I saw a lot off people getting desserts from the front as they were checking out. So we decided to try one out. The cookies are huge.

If you're looking for just good old country cooking, this is the place. I had their breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, and grits and one of the best biscuits I've ever had. Either someone's Grandma is back there cooking or somebody's. Grandma taught him how to cook. If you like a good roadside diner with outstanding food , this is the place to go. There is also a really neat covered bridge about 4 miles away and it's about 10 mi from Warm Springs, Georgia which has a lot to do as well.
