I have been a loyal customer of Chang Shou Restaurant for as long as I can remember, dating back to when it was just a small casino spot. My husband and I have enjoyed countless lunches and dinners here over the years, making it one of our go-to dining spots.
Lately, I’ve been particularly fond of the clay pot chicken bowl, and on a previous visit, a waitress kindly offered me the option of boneless chicken instead of bone-in. I agreed, and it was perfectly prepared. Since then, I have continued to order it this way several times a month without any issues—until my most recent visit.
This past weekend, my husband and I went in for lunch, expecting our usual enjoyable meal. However, we were immediately met with an unpleasant experience. The manager approached our table and bluntly told me that they “do not take special orders” like the one I had requested. Fortunately, I had sent a picture of my meal to my sister in the past, showcasing how it had been prepared for me multiple times before. When I showed the manager this picture, her response was shocking—she stated that “someone would be in trouble” for having made my meal that way before. However, she reluctantly agreed to honor my request “this time.”
When my meal arrived, the quality was noticeably poor. The dish lacked the rich, flavorful gravy that usually enhances the meal, and the overall portion was disappointing. Worse still, I had ordered one to-go, and when I got home, I discovered that it was less than half the usual portion, again with barely any gravy.
This entire experience was disheartening. Instead of valuing a long-time customer’s loyalty, the restaurant dismissed my concerns and delivered subpar food. Read moreThe first time we went in to have dinner was about 2 years, food and service were excellent, the waitress that helped us was very professional, after some time I would say after all the BS covid we decided to go back, I remember we wanted to go and have dinner around 9 pm but seemed like they were giving preference to the gold card members, they told us that the next available table for 2 would be around 12 o'clock and just turn around and walk away, then the next time, the person at front wouldn't even acknowledge us, so we have to be like !"EXCUSE ME"!!! at that point we were waiting about 10 min, the he said next table is available around 11:45 so we said forget it, we went to have soup next door, tonight as soon as we got here Around 8 o'clock, I was greeted by the guy at front named Angel, I believe he is the assistant manager,he was very polite, and told me a table for 2 shroud be available at 11:15 but if there's 1 before I will message you, I guess he forgot to text me! It was past 11: 30 so I came to check and got seated right away, the waitress came by real quick and took our drink and appetizer order, she took our order and food was delicious, angel even came to our table to ask "How is your food"!! We told him is really good!! We like the food at this place, too bad that customer service change drastically and they don't give customers the same treatment! Tonight our experience was really great, hopefully next time we will have the same experience!! Our check number was 14417, they are really getting worse! In 2023 my 1st time back, Taste of the Mongolian Beef changed to something mediocre with higher price. Shumai sauce is now simply soy sauce (what waiter gave me when i asked for the ShuMai sauce) The supposedly seafood PAN FRIED noodles is WATERY, few seafood and DOES NOT TASTE GOOD and expensive!
This restaurant has gone from good to bad to worst! The SERVICE…WORST! We were ask to use the Bar as they were bz. 2spots opened, I was waiting for someone to clean the open spots…NO ONE DID! So I went ahead cleaned the space with their table napkin to remove leftover food on the counter. Servers at this restaurant are lazy and bunch of jerks (male & female)…for real!!! Then an indian guy showed up to clean the counter…yeah right. He wiped the counter clean but let the leftover food drop on the stool and some on the floor!
