Update 09-16-22: Still going strong. Watch out, they close on Oct. 12, 2022!
Update 7-16-22: They have some interesting rhubarb flavors added to the mix. Beyond that, same as last year. Great ice cream, great prices!
This is the closest ice cream place to me and the family loves it. Also very easily the cheapest! 2 adults plus 2 kids plus a dog cup runs just under $20. That's very hard to beat. My only complaint here is that their menu is a mess! You'll easily spend 5 minutes staring at this 4' by 5' board absolutely filled with options and toppings. It's very confusing and generally doesn't make sense. Once you've gone a few times and figured out what everything means, you'll settle on the thing you like and it's all good. In general, get a "nor' Easter" (think McDonald's flurry but NOT mixed/stirred) and pick 3 things to put in it (toppings, syrups, candy, etc) plus either vanilla, chocolate, or twist ice cream. That's it. That's what they serve here. The rest of the menu is just variations of this. Also slushies (think snow cone) and different flavors of soft serve. They also sell knick knacks and local foods (maple syrup, honey, mugs, etc). Parking is at a premium during the later hours,...
Read moreIt’s always a great time coming here. The ice cream is amazing, the animals are eager to see you (and be given treats), and the vibe is just families spending time together. The staff are very busy and stressed but polite for the most part. The lines can be killer. It’s usually pretty long but go on an especially popular day? Yeah, you’ll get your stand time in but honestly it moves pretty fast and there are chickens to keep you company.
The parking is probably the worst part about this place. It’s always crowded here, it just is. It’s a very popular place with not enough parking to secure everyone. The last time I went someone parked on the street and got in trouble because there just isn’t a lot of room. When we got there it was basically one car leaving for every two cars that got there I mean it was pushing it. It’s also a little scary to navigate. Let’s just say that if you drive in be careful of other people driving out cause it’s TIGHT, also hope there’s a parking spot free by the time you hit the end cause turning around is a nightmare depending on your car.
But come visit, and form your...
Read moreDiscovered this place by recommendation on a local forum. Needing to get out of the house, we took a drive. I'm glad we did. They have set things up wonderfully to keep things moving even with people having to stay in their cars. We first went on the weekend when they only served the basics given the amount of people and needing to move things along. Sooo, we went back during the week to try their flavors. There is no hard ice cream, it is all soft serve. There is a lot to choose from and plenty of flavors to try as well. Their portions are quite generous -- their mini cone is about the size of one you would get at McD's. They have regular sundaes but also what they call noreasters which are basically a sundae but with the toppings layered rather then just sitting on top. They have some suggested combinations but you can always make your own combination. They also have Butterbeer which we found to be delicious. Most importantly for me, the family who runs this is friendly, helpful and cheerful. We've already been back another two times and plan on heading there...
